Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alicia Gomez Rodriguez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Alicia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
All started as a child, collecting films and recreating certain scenes. Sometimes I didn’t know what I was doing but felt happy for myself on what I was practicing. We can say taking notes hahaha. I was around 9 or 10 when I realized what path I wanted to take. When I go back and think about my past, I feel more than excited of what I had accomplished lately, it makes more sense now.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
People say entering this career path is easy, in which it’s the opposite. You have to have Discipline, Confidence, Patience (lots of it), and most of all Passion. Dedication also plays a big part of it, most of the industry colleagues would agree with the list. It took me many years to have all the characteristics, no one has them set or done when they’re born, trust me. I started by attending a private film school International Academy of Film & Television and slowly progressed up. Met incredible people and got to perform in some of their short films. Being in front of the camera made me realize on what else I can do, I was curious about other ways of performing, then the chapter for Stunts came in the picture and never felt much happier. Now I do more weapon handling and other exciting things.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to show people to have an unlimited mindset. Many of us are scared to try new things and break a certain routine. I was one of them. I had a paternal figure no too long ago, he passed early this year, I miss him every single day, he used to love to go sightseeing and trying new things no matter what. He would encourage me more and more to be out there, be myself. He will tell me, “ You got this Kid”, no matter what new adventure I would try to seek. When he passed, the days seemed unrealistic, then I remembered what he told me, what he has done when he was around, as a life adventurer as himself, and I told myself, Life is one, we have to be unlimited in certain areas in our life, not be afraid and enjoy every second. When Stunts appeared in my life, not even in my wildest dreams I thought I was going to do it, now I enjoy it and will continue doing it. “Thank you Mark Conley for pushing me forward”.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist it’s to learn new skills I thought I never had and share it with everyone. After being diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in 2020, I thought that my career was being limited but the thing it’s to learn new ways/skills and work around it, of course being more careful. I used to be scared at first but then I was like oh I can try this and hopefully it works. Martial arts, kick boxing and going to the gym with my siblings have really done the job while recovering from therapy days, now I don’t feel no pain. It’s never to late to learn new skills/ lessons no matter what age or circumstances. So let’s say that the most rewarding aspect really is to learn a new skill every time we have a chance.
