We were lucky to catch up with Isa-Welly Locoh-Donou recently and have shared our conversation below.
Isa-Welly, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I am hoping that people will remeber me as a woman who lived her truth and epmpowerd others to create and live a life that feels authentic and joyful to them. I really believe that we have the power to do that, but we are so often caught up in society, family and other people expecations that we give up on what it is that we truly want. So many of my clients (women in their early 40’s) are in a radical change of career because they realise that they can longer do work that has no purpose and no meaning to them. They are seeking alignement, they want to find themselves again and reconnect to what lit them up. So I hope that I will be remembered for helping them achieve that.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
So I am Isa-Welly, 41 Mum of 1, based in London, UK. I am a transformational coach and a business mentor. I help women release fear, negative beliefs so they can step into their next chapter with clarity and confidence. I am currently focusing on women wanting to grow and scale their wellbeing business online so they can increase their income and experience the freedom of time.
Having built a digital wellbeing business, and pivoted throughout my professional life a few times, I have a wealth of knowledge and firsthand insight to share with my clients.
I coach my clients forom a place of empowerment. They are all incredible and i want to reflect that to them. Nothing is missing. What they need and i help them with, is getting clear, releasing the limiting beliefs holding them back, and staying accountable.
Prior to this, I was a Life and Wellbeing coach with a Diploma in Nutritional therapy, a Pilates teacher background and i built an online business offering people Nutrition, wellbeing and pilates courses to help them get stronger physically and mentally
And prior to that I was a professional dancer for over a decade performing for Kylie Minogue, Take that, Snoop and performing across the world stages…
Have you ever had to pivot?
I think this was very much a story of growth, resilience and trusting the path ahead was the right one. But I retired fromprofessional dancing in 2015 after an incredible 12 years, and it was one of the toughest transition. I loved dancing so muhc, and I also knew that there was more waiting for me, I had many moore skills to explore in this lifestime. So I took a leap of faith and retired without a plan B really…just love for all things health and wellness and a lot of naivety!! But it worked. It wasn’t smooth sailing, but eventually I taught Pilates. trained as a Nutritional Therapist, worked with incredible brands as their ambassadors..taugh classes at festivals, hosted my own day retreats and ultimately built an online community and platform where my programs could have mor eimpact and empower people to prioritise their health. My 2015 self was so depressed after retiring, and so so scared of the road ahead. She had no idea! And here are, transitioning into career number 3.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
As I now teach my clients, when deciding to build a business online, especially in the health and wellbeing field and even in the coaching field… building a community and nurturing it with quality content, love and respect is the foundation of a successful business. And that has always worked for me
