We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daisie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daisie below.
Daisie, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned what I do through a combination of hands-on experience, networking, and constantly pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. Whether it was modeling, brand collaborations, or spokesmodeling, I immersed myself in the industry, learned from mentors, and paid close attention to what worked and what didn’t. Every show, every shoot, and every opportunity taught me something new.
If I could go back, I would have focused more on building connections earlier and investing in professional training. Networking is key in this industry, and having the right people in your corner can open doors much faster. I also would have spent more time studying the business side of things—understanding contracts, negotiations, and branding—so I could have positioned myself better from the start.
The most essential skills were confidence, adaptability, and professionalism. Being able to take direction, maintain composure under pressure, and consistently deliver high-quality work has been crucial. Communication skills also played a huge role in building relationships and securing opportunities.
As for obstacles, there were plenty—self-doubt, financial limitations, and balancing personal life with career demands. There were times when opportunities felt out of reach, but persistence was key. Learning to overcome rejection and keep pushing forward despite setbacks was just as important as any technical skill.
Ultimately, the learning never stops, but every challenge has made me better and more prepared for what’s next.
Daisie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a model, spokesmodel, and creative professional deeply involved in fashion, branding, and runway productions. My journey into this industry wasn’t a straight path—I’ve always had a passion for creative expression, but it took courage, resilience, and a willingness to step into the unknown to fully pursue it. I started by networking, working with designers, and putting myself in the right rooms, which led to opportunities like walking in runway shows for designers like Danny Nguyen and Amine Designs, working with brands, and even landing a magazine cover.
Beyond just modeling, I provide a dynamic presence for brands looking to bring their vision to life. Whether it’s runway, editorial, promotional work, or brand collaborations, I bring a unique blend of confidence, storytelling, and professionalism to every project. I help brands create an impact by connecting with their audience in a way that feels authentic and powerful.
What sets me apart is my personal journey. I didn’t just step into this industry with everything figured out—I built my career while overcoming challenges, including postpartum depression, and redefining what success looks like for me. That’s why my work isn’t just about showcasing fashion or a product; it’s about inspiring others to go after what they want, no matter the obstacles.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my first magazine cover and publication with Hot in HTown. That moment was a reflection of the hard work, late nights, and perseverance it took to get to where I am. But beyond accolades, I’m proud of the connections I’ve built—the brands I’ve helped grow, the creatives I’ve collaborated with, and the audience that follows my journey.
For anyone new to my work, I want them to know that I’m not just here to model—I’m here to create, inspire, and push boundaries. Whether it’s through fashion, branding, or storytelling, I bring a bold, personal touch to everything I do, and I’m just getting started.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life came when I had to step away from modeling to take care of my dying dad. At the time, my career was gaining momentum, but nothing mattered more than being there for him. Losing him was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, and coming back into modeling afterward felt almost impossible. I was grieving, and the thought of putting on a brave face for the camera felt overwhelming. But instead of faking it, I let modeling become a part of my healing. It reminded me of everything my dad taught me—to keep pushing forward, to chase my dreams, and to never let hardship define me.
At the same time, I was also overcoming and dealing with depression and making the leap from real estate and sales into modeling full-time. It was a complete shift—starting over in a competitive field, learning everything from scratch, and proving myself while carrying so much personal pain. But through it all, I refused to give up. Walking in runway shows, collaborating with top designers, landing my first magazine cover—all of it became proof that resilience and passion can coexist with grief. Modeling has not only allowed me to build the career I dreamed of, but it’s also given me the strength to keep going, knowing that I’m honoring my dad’s legacy every step of the way.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was the idea that I always had to be “strong” and push through pain without allowing myself to fully feel or process it.
For a long time, I believed that success meant showing up no matter what—smiling through struggles, keeping emotions bottled up, and never letting personal hardships slow me down. But that mindset was tested when I lost my dad. I tried to return to modeling like nothing had changed, but inside, I was breaking. The same happened after having my last child and battling postpartum depression. I thought I had to keep pushing without acknowledging my pain, but it only made things harder.
It wasn’t until I allowed myself to be vulnerable—both with myself and in my work—that I realized true strength isn’t about pretending you’re okay; it’s about giving yourself grace, healing at your own pace, and using your experiences to fuel your passion rather than suppressing them. Learning this changed everything. It made me a better model, a better storyteller, and, most importantly, a better version of myself. Now, I embrace my emotions, knowing that they don’t make me weak—they make me real.
