We were lucky to catch up with Leigh Lovett recently and have shared our conversation below.
Leigh , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’m a Nashville native, but I’ve moved away a few times for college, grad school and work. I moved back to Nashville permanently in 2017. I came back to a “New Nashville” and decided to start a new blog focused on the things that I loved which included my city, style, travel and events. As I got more into the world of blogging and social media in Nashville, I began to get invited to brand events for influencers. What I often noticed was that these events were not diverse, inclusive and frankly sometimes unwelcoming. That’s when the idea of Blogger Xchange was born. Blogger Xchange was created to provide an inclusive community for bloggers, content creators and influencers in Nashville. Blogger Xchange is not only a community, but we also host social events and workshops for our bloggers. In addition, we offer 1:1 consulting and coaching to help our bloggers expand their strategy and monetize. We also work with small and midsize businesses through our BX Brand Partnerships Program that connects them to local bloggers to help promote their products and services via the bloggers’ social channels. Blogger Xchange is going on 8 years old and is now Nashville’s largest creative community. We foster a community of belonging.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Leigh Lovett is our Blogger Xchange Co-Founder and Owner. Leigh has 10+ years of experience in marketing and social media. She received her Masters in Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College. She has worked for major companies including General Mills and Mars Petcare. Leigh has a passion for helping small businesses with their marketing and social media. She also loves helping her fellow bloggers scale and monetize their blogs and social channels. Blogger Xchange offers 1:1 consulting and coaching for bloggers, content creators and influencers. Blogger Xchange also has its BX Brand Partnerships Program that connects small and midsize businesses to local influencers through custom social programs. Blogger Xchange has become the largest creator community in Nashville. Throughout the year, Blogger Xchange hosts exclusive events for the community in the fun of social and fun brand experiences.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Blogger Xchange has built a strong following with our core bloggers due to Leigh being a blogger herself. This helps as she ensures the bloggers are always taken care of. She shares her knowledge with them and ensures bloggers that would normally be left out of brand events are warmly welcomed to BX events on and ongoing basis. Blogger Xchange’s reputation with local and small businesses comes because Leigh truly cares about seeing local and women owned businesses win, grow and scale. She is more than happy to bring her many years of expertise from the corporate world to help these budding businesses. Leigh is very thoughtful when creating brand experiences and events for the bloggers. Her goal is always to create a mutually beneficial partnership. The trifecta for Leigh is when the bloggers are able to have a fun, exclusive brand experience and get content, the businesses gains strong organic social awareness that helps them grow and Blogger Xchange is able to be the driving force behind it all. Blogger Xchange only takes on a few specific clients to ensure they get the support they need and they receive a return in their social numbers as well.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
2020-2021, like many businesses, Blogger Xchange had to pivot from large in-person events. Going virtual was the spark that launched the consulting and coaching sector of Blogger Xchange. In November 2022, Blogger Xchange celebrated 5 years of business, A month later in December 2022, Leigh’s father passed away. This caused Leigh to take a long break of almost 2 years. During that time, Blogger Xchange only hosted about 1-2 events and took on a select few clients. But Blogger Xchange has reemerged stronger and bolder than ever. Leigh found that she does her best work when she is doing something she is passionate about. And Leigh is passionate about bringing bloggers together, helping them grow and showing how bloggers should be a necessary part of every small businesses marketing strategy.
