Meghan , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you manage your own social media?
I manage my own social media. Social media is very important for the industry im in. It’s a way to showcase your work. Show potential clients your personal style. Unfortunately this can feel like a part time job Taking great photos/videos and posting content regularly.

Meghan , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Meghan johnson. I am 40 years old. I live in grafton with my family. Bf(Brent) two children (wyatt)(Ally) I am a Makeup artist working primarily in Bridal makeup and boudoir makeup. I travel but also have a small studio I work out of in Mequon, WI. I have always had an interest in makeup when I turned 34 I decided to turn my interest into an actual Job and start working towards getting into the industry.
I offer both airbrush and traditional makeup. A few years ago everyone was requesting airbrush. Currently I find clients are allowing me to choose what I think will work best.
Bridal makeup is very rewarding. I’m providing a service that really starts out their big day and helps them feel their most beautiful on such an important day. Since I’m an individual and not a team you’ll get a more personalized experience with me. You’ll only speak to me through the entire process. I’m thorough and prompt. Fast response time. Which is so important for someone planning a wedding. I’m also flexible and pretty laid back. I want all my brides/clients to feel comfortable with me. Thats very important to me. I don’t have set looks. Every look is individualized to each bride/client and their preferences.
I genuinely enjoy/love this job. I believe that shows through in my work.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I find the most effective strategy has simply been doing an amazing job on my clients. Being positive and friendly when working on a client
listening to what they want and delivering results. They’ll soon refer me to their friends and so on.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I currently don’t have a huge following on social media or anything
when I first started I was more motivated to grow my audience. Currently I post to show my work more than grow my audience. It’s a full time job to come up with great content for social media. Hopefully in the near future I’ll have more time to work on growing my audience.
