We recently connected with Danté Marsh and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Danté thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
I joined the choir my junior year of high school in Ohio. I didn’t really join to sing I joined to get an easy A. My choir teacher Anjanette Depoy was the first person to hear my voice and believe in me. In that moment she changed the entire trajectory of my life. That was the beginning of me embarking down a path in life in which music would be my vehicle to navigate it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Danté Marsh – A Journey in Music and Movement
My musical journey began in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, where I played guitar and sang in bars, cafés, hotels, and events, honing my craft one performance at a time. From there, the winds carried me to Kauai, where inspiration bloomed, and I wrote my first album, A Glimpse of the Moment. Seeking something more, I followed the rhythm of my heart to Los Angeles, I spent a year there selling CDs out of my guitar case and playing on the boardwalk but life had a different path in store. I found myself on California’s Central Coast, where I organically formed The Vibe Setters, a band rooted in soul, movement, and connection.
Since then, we’ve had the honor of playing at some of the region’s most beloved events—Whale Rock, Live Oak, Shabang, and the California Mid-State Fair, where we opened for Journey. We also had the privilege of setting the stage at the Fremont Theater for Steel Pulse. But beyond the music and the milestones, what fills me with the most pride is the community we’ve built—a space where joy, rhythm, and togetherness thrive.
Dance is one of humanity’s oldest languages, a sacred form of expression where we come to know ourselves and one another. The dance floor is a place of freedom, where movement dissolves barriers, and spirits align. With that in mind, I recently launched Jungle Haüs, a DJ project rooted in Afro and Latin house music—a sonic journey designed to awaken movement and deepen self-connection.
Whether it’s me and my guitar, a full band behind me, or the hypnotic pulse of DJ decks, the mission remains the same: to create a space where everyone feels safe to move, to express, to dance without limits. No judgment. No restraints—only respect, rhythm, and the boundless joy of being alive.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I believe we are all here to uplift one another, each of us carrying unique gifts meant to make the world a brighter place. For me, the most fulfilling part of being a creative—of sharing my art with humanity—is the joy it brings to others. There is something profoundly beautiful about making people feel—whether it’s a feeling they didn’t know they needed or a moment of pure happiness they didn’t expect.
Music has the power to shift energy, to raise the vibration of a space, to turn fleeting moments into something timeless. I’ve seen people fall in love to the music, watched as melodies wrapped around them like an embrace, creating memories that linger long after the last note fades. Every moment is sacred, and being a part of that magic is the greatest gift of all.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My social media audience has grown organically through the connections I’ve made along my journey—from the places I’ve lived, like Ohio, Tennessee, Kauai, and California, to the many cities where I’ve played, traveled, and shared music. From the East Coast, to the west coast, to Brazil and Nicaragua, every encounter has been a thread in the tapestry of my musical path.
I believe the best way to build a loyal and supportive community is through genuine, in-person connections. When people feel a natural bond, they become part of the journey in a meaningful way. That’s why I think it’s essential to keep an email list of everyone who comes to a show. Over time, this simple step can make a huge difference, helping to nurture and strengthen those relationships as the journey unfolds
