We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiesha Vassar-Pflum a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiesha , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is a practice it has to be something that you do over and over to reach certain levels. If you are a visual person having a visual model of success can act as a guide. Ask yourself questions how do I want to make an impact? Why is it important for me to be successful?

Tiesha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I Am Tiesha Vassar-Pflum I wear alot of hats as a Creative Entrepreneur. I Started as a Hairstylist very young, I became a Make-up Artist, a Media Host, Event Producer, Podcaster, Marketer, Content creator, Editor, and Author. I am originally from Chicago and Lived in Atlanta for over 8yrs. Navigating the entrepreneurial space is something I started doing very young. Clients have employed my brand to assist in the following areas: Media Interview coverage, Award Shows, Event Launches, Photoshoots, Fashion Show productions, Commercial advertisement, and more. My passion to serve in every capacity I have been allowed drives me. My reward beyond money is the long standing relationships I have built.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
One of the most rewarding aspect about being a creative is to design your own opportunities. When you work in the creative space it doesn’t feel like you are working because passion is guiding you. You have to believe in your ability and talent in order to follow through on your vision. Trusting your brillance takes courage because when your a creative you are betting it all on You

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
When I started in my industry, I began seeking out local events to connect with. At the time I assembled a team of dedicated people that could capture launches, grand openings, and red carpet events. I began doing live interviews to highlight the events and business owners. My business was started by researching online for upcoming events and then I would connect directly with the owners. Networking with the influencers in the city opened a ton of doors for my brand. It created visibility for local talent and it gave our brand a voice. I transitioned from doing live media coverage to creating my own events. I Started in Atlanta and was able to resume hosting in Chicago. I had to learn how to take content and convert it into a finished product. I was fortunate to work with a lot of visually creative photographers, videographers, and entrepreneurs throughout my journey. I originally started out as a Hairstylist, Make-up Artist, Make-up Instructor, Podcastor, then Event Host, Content Creator etc… I have been fortunate to remain in the creative space and practice what is fulfilling to me. I truly love to make take something that didn’t exist and produce an unforgettable experience. I value every single person that has supported my brand and team.
