Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin Siegel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Erin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
My journey to creating Fortitude & Flourish began in 1997 when I became a master esthetician. After opening my first skincare practice, Skinnovations, in 2005, I quickly realized my work wasn’t just about skincare—it was about empowering women to feel confident and strong, both inside and out. In 2020, I expanded my services to include holistic coaching, focusing on integrating spirit to nurture my clients’ overall well-being along with their external appearance.
Starting my practice came with challenges. Balancing excellent service with the business side—marketing, finances, and systems—was difficult, as was creating a welcoming space that reflected my values while staying within budget. But each challenge taught me invaluable lessons and helped build the foundation of my practice.
Through my work, I realized many of my clients were dealing with struggles beyond skincare—relationship issues, divorce, parenting, and navigating family court. This inspired me to shift focus and pursue coaching to help women in these areas. I earned my coaching certification and am now working toward my PCC through ICF to mentor other coaches.
A story that stands out is working with a client who came to me for skincare but also expressed struggles with her self-worth following a difficult divorce. Through a holistic coaching approach, I integrated spirit into our work together, helping her reconnect with her inner strength and rebuild her confidence. By addressing both her external and internal needs, she not only saw improvements in her skin but also felt empowered in her personal life.
Looking back, I would have invested more time in business education early on, especially in financial management and marketing, and prioritized work-life balance sooner.
For anyone considering starting their own practice, my advice is:
Invest in business education to complement your craft.
Build a support network of mentors and peers.
Be prepared for hard work and setbacks.
Stay grounded in your passion and purpose.
Embrace failure as a learning opportunity.
The journey has been rewarding, and I’m excited to continue empowering women through Fortitude & Flourish—helping them not only look beautiful but also feel confident, resilient, and spiritually aligned.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Erin Siegel, and I’m the founder of Fortitude & Flourish. I’ve been a master aesthetician since 1997, and in 2005, I opened my first skincare practice, Skinnovations. From 1997 to 2002, I worked in dermatology, and from 2002 to 2007, I worked in plastic and reconstructive surgery. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of the skin, its complexities, and how treatments can truly transform a person’s appearance and confidence. What started as a passion for skincare soon evolved into something much deeper—empowering women to feel confident, strong, and balanced both inside and out.
Throughout my career, I’ve always believed that beauty isn’t just skin deep. While providing aesthetic treatments like facials and skincare services is a key part of what I do, I realized that many of my clients were also dealing with personal struggles like relationship challenges, divorce, and parenting issues. That’s what led me to expand my services to include holistic coaching, with a focus on integrating spirit into every aspect of my work. I aim to nurture my clients’ overall well-being, helping them reconnect with their inner strength, build confidence, and live more fulfilling lives.
At Fortitude & Flourish, we offer the ultimate glow up—supporting you as you integrate beauty both inside and out. I provide a blend of skincare services and holistic coaching that addresses both external and internal needs. I specialize in women’s empowerment, relationships, divorce, parenting, and navigating life transitions, particularly when it comes to family court. My approach is unique because it combines spiritual coaching, where I help clients find balance and inner peace, with personalized skincare treatments that leave them looking and feeling refreshed.
What sets me apart is the way I approach beauty and personal growth. I don’t just treat the skin; I treat the person as a whole. I’m not only helping clients achieve clear skin or glowing complexions but also guiding them through life’s challenges and helping them heal from within. I integrate a holistic approach that addresses mind, body, and spirit, allowing my clients to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built over the years and the transformation I’ve seen in my clients. Whether it’s helping someone rebuild their self-esteem after a difficult divorce or empowering a woman to navigate parenting challenges with confidence, the impact I’ve had on people’s lives is what fuels my work. One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing clients not just improve their skin but also discover a deeper sense of self-love and empowerment.
For potential clients, I want you to know that Fortitude & Flourish is more than just a service—it’s a partnership. I’m here to walk with you through your journey, helping you become the best version of yourself. Whether you’re seeking glowing skin, confidence after a life change, or support during a challenging time, my mission is to help you feel empowered, beautiful, and aligned in every way. I’m passionate about creating a space where you can grow, heal, and flourish.
What I offer is about much more than treatments or coaching—it’s about creating lasting change in your life.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2011, I was strangled in my own home, an experience that left me with physical and emotional scars. For the next seven years, I lived with PTSD, carrying the weight of shame—not for myself, but for the perpetrator. I felt trapped by the trauma, but I knew deep down that healing was possible. Eventually, I sought help and began the long process of healing. It wasn’t easy, but through therapy and self-work, I rediscovered my strength and resilience.
This journey of survival and recovery became the foundation for my work today. I combined my expertise as an aesthetician with my experience of healing to offer holistic coaching. I now support women in breaking old patterns that no longer serve them, helping them step into their purpose and freedom. Fortitude & Flourish was born from my belief that healing is about more than just surviving—it’s about flourishing. I guide women through emotional trauma, PTSD, divorce, and life transitions, helping them reconnect with their inner strength, embrace their worth, and live with intention.
What I’ve learned is that resilience is not just about pushing through the pain; it’s about transforming it into power. And I’m proud to use my story to support and guide others on their own journeys to healing, purpose, and self-empowerment.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Building my clientele has always been a natural process. I believe in attracting the right clients through authenticity, compassion, and meeting people where they are. I’m often described as a ray of sunshine—highly compassionate and kind—and I take the time to listen and understand each person’s unique needs. This approach helps build trust and creates a safe, supportive space for clients.
I attract clients like a magnet. Through genuine connections, word of mouth has been a huge driver of my business. Clients refer others to me because they feel heard, valued, and truly cared for. Whether providing skincare services or coaching, I meet clients where they are and offer them a personalized, compassionate experience.
What sets me apart is my ability to make clients feel comfortable and supported. When you lead with heart, the right people find you. By staying true to myself and offering kindness and understanding, I’ve built a community of clients who appreciate not only my services but my genuine care for their well-being.
