We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amron Forsythe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amron below.
Amron, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
ASAP AMS Media started as a way of freeing myself from the expectations of the world around me and expressing myself through connection, creation, and compassion. I decided early on in my career with my camera that we were not just here to capture special moments, but to offer others an opportunity at bringing their own visions to life; I knew that I was just a catalyst in others’ creative experiences, and those connections began to inspire me more than I ever could have imagined.
I would say that I have purposely geared my clientele to be about 95% women, and in doing so, I feel confident and capable in giving women the opportunity to not only feel confident in themselves in professional photos, but to give them confidence in their ability to convey their creative vision, pride in their expressions, and empowered through our growing friendships. I myself spent years hiding from cameras, not wanting to share myself with the world because I wasn’t confident in myself or the message I was conveying, and I know that this is something so many women struggle with throughout every era of life. Being able to use my camera to help change the way women view themselves and bring confidence back into their lives is something I could never have prepared myself for.
There is something so special about sitting down in the studio with a woman, talking about our insecurities, and watching them melt away throughout the photo session as she gets more and more confident with herself with every pose. I have always said that I want ASAP AMS Media to be the type of photography business that fills photo albums with special family memories, but turns out my clients have been filling my photo albums with special memories of empowered, capable, incredible women who each taught me such incredible lessons about empathy, humility, and kindness.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Amron Forsythe, or ASAP AMS Media, a creative and lifestyle photographer out of Nashville. I started my business 7 years ago in my small hometown of Adamsville, Tennessee. I moved to Nashville in 2021 and spent years bartending to make ends meet between photo sessions while growing my own cozy little community and clientele. I finally went full time with photography again last May and have been so incredibly blessed with the opportunities that have come my way. I moved here with intentions of photographing live music events, but am proud to say that my vision for ASAP AMS is ever evolving. Currently, I focus heavily on creative and lifestyle portraits, both studio and outdoor. I work heavily in branding and content creation for various companies and shops around the city, work with a variety of influencers, and work out of my own home studio where my clients can find a spot to relax, unwind, and find comfort before and after a shoot. I have been blessed an incredible community of people who support ASAP AMS and help to bring the vision to life every time they step in front of my lens.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
100% without a doubt word of mouth! Social media is an incredible tool and I am so grateful for my online community, but connection. is. key. I would still be bartending 4 nights a week and shooting 3 times a month if I had not gathered the courage to introduce myself as a photographer to almost every single person I met. Working at a bar, I was constantly around people, serving guests who were potential clients. I truly do not think I would have been able to quit my bartending job and go full-time with photography if I hadn’t used every opportunity to spread the word of my business everywhere I went. Offering free sessions to people I knew had a decent online following/community and would use their own word of mouth abilities to spread the word, cold pitching email after email after email, literally printing flyers and posting them over popular artistic and creative parts of the city — I did everything I could to bring people in and give them their first experience in front of my lens because I felt so confident that this was what was meant for me, and I am so blessed to have created so many lasting relationships, returning clients, and opportunities I never would have expected, all just from “Hi! I’m Amron. I’m a photographer!”

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
There are so many parts of being a creative that feel so rewarding but I truly have to say the aspect I cherish the most is connection. There is so much more to a photoshoot with ASAP AMS than just posing and snapping photos for the sake of content. I honestly feel like the clients who are drawn to my project find their way here for a reason, and I value the ability to connect with the people who trust me with their creative visions, special core memories, and everything in-between is the greatest reward of all. So many times I find myself chatting with a new client as if we have known each other for years. We talk about what brings us joy, how we feel about the state of the world, what memories of our past help shape us into the person being portrayed through the art being created. Truly it is so special to me that I can reach out to a majority of my clients and ask about their children by name, celebrate their wins with them, and truly foster lasting friendships through connecting with people who see the world through the same creative lenses as me.
