Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lisa Young. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

My daughter and I embarked on individual journies to heal ourselves. To face the shadows and dig deep to clear generational trauma. One of the modalities we found seperately and together was the power of breathwork to affect profound healing and insight. In addition, I found Human Design, a new combination of a blend of many modalities from astrology to IChing or Chakras. Human Design is the like the GPS on a map where astrology is the map. It can provide massive insight into how to shape your life, your energy and your decision making. So Breath by Design by combining both of these powerful tools into a family founded company to help other’s heal and get to know themselves.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I dabbled in the healing arts 30 years ago, Reiki and Acupunture when alot of the world was not open to these things. My day job as a CPA flourished and I became a CFO to many start ups and multi-million dollar organizations. This took on a life of it’s own almost consuming me and my health. As I passed the 50 year old mark, my body felt like 70 and I began to have health issues with the long hours and chronic stress. My daughter was having her own life crisis and pursued plant medicine in Peru, she came back a changed woman. The shell of a daughter that left came back full of life and no fear. I wanted that. I began my own journey of self discovery realizing that I was a healer from very early on. I simply switched to healing the financials of a company instead of person. Experiencing breathwork created such a bond with me that doing that for other people would not feel like work, it would not not drain me, but rather fill me up. I signed up on my own but found out within days my daughter had also signed up for the certification training as well. We decided to join forces and heal together, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life.
