We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fnf Juuk a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
FNF, appreciate you joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
Yes, my work has been misunderstood because of me being misunderstood by others.
When ppl see me they just think oh he’s a regular dude from the hood, until a conversation is sparked up and then people realize and see my intelligence.
My appearance look like I make trap rap or drill music however, I’m very versatile when it’s comes to my producing and engineering to where I don’t have to make that style of music.
My appearance Ive tattooed misunderstood on my face for a reason because you won’t understand me until you get to know me.

FNF, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I go by the industry name FNF Juuk from Jacksonville Florida. Duuuval!!!
Northside baby.
FNF: means Finesse and Finagle. Finessing your way through life while finagling through the obstacles in your life.
I got into the industry at the age of 14 I started making beats, I stopped at age 21 where I found myself becoming a music artist.
After years in the industry yes I’m an artist but my platform is also music producer, engineer, and songwriter.
I’ve written a few songs for some mainstream artists. Currently NDAs are in play to some names that I may not mention!
BMI ASCAP and RIAA certified.
My name and adlibs are copyrighted and my brand is LLC’d.
I also take an interest in helping other artists with development due to me being very big on creativity and not being copycats.
I take music n my craft highly and very serious. However, I fuel up with the excitement of helping others on their music or projects.
My goal this year after taking on management with Kween PrezSure and PrezSure Musik Management is to have more credits under my name especially mainstream and even the underground.!
Hit more stages and here my music across the Florida State line radio stations while making massive connections with DJs and artists in other cities and states!

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The best thing society can do to support artist is having the DJ’s in your local city play all local artist as well with the mainstream.
Local Artist music should be in rotation when they’re at the clubs or concerts.
Any event and functions should have the locals in rotation which is how your city gets familiar with the artist and their music.
That will help artist with followers on social media platforms and also help with the artists streams as well as teachable criticism. The DJ’s have to do they’re part and listen and also watch crowd reactions and participation which is something majority don’t do.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The best thing that impacted me was YouTube and watching my peers around me. YouTube taught me how to make beats. YouTube taught how to get better at engineering. My Fellow partners who also do music taught me how to engineer. And I also do my own studying as well. I’m a reader.
Finally having a manager impacted me too because I been looking and searching and I found a manager in Kween PrezSure of PrezSure Musik management, You need someone who is organized, on top of things, voicing opinions, standing on business, and also believing in you. And I know I have that on my side when it comes to Kween PrezSure.
