We were lucky to catch up with Zbg recently and have shared our conversation below.
ZBG, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
It was when I was 11 years old I’m not even gonna lie, there was a school trip I went on and during that trip we had this notebook and my class got asked to write down what we wanted to do when we were older and that was when I wrote down that I wanted to be a youtuber because I grew up watching youtubers like deji, KSI, coryxkenshin, rdcworld, clifford owusu, cobanermani456 and many more creators and it made me want to actually create videos as well (this was when I had my first youtube channel) it was only when I was 14 and people used to message me saying how much they enjoyed my videos, mind you these were strangers I didn’t know that genuinely liked my content, not people I knew prior, that was when I decided to take it seriously because when I first started, I only did it for fun

ZBG, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
So I’m a youtuber (mainly), a twitch streamer and tiktoker, I pretty much fall into the content creator category, on youtube my content is very versatile so anyone can sit, watch and enjoy the content I create on there, on tiktok my content is mostly based on relatable stuff so essentially skits/talking videos on things everyone can relate to and with my twitch, honestly the best way I could describe my streams is just someone having too much fun, especially when friends are around, all in all my content is pure good vibes and entertainment.
What sets me apart from others? from what many have said, I’m in my own lane of entertainment and when it comes to video ideas, I always add a creative twist to them ideas as well, another thing that sets me apart is my workrate and dedication, you could catch me editing videos during my lessons, lectures, practically anywhere, the fact that I even lost my old channel and decided to still carry on with a new channel which is my current channel and grinded my way back to where I once was before and exceed that is also another thing that sets me apart as most people in my shoes would’ve given up a long time ago.
What I’m most proud of is how much things I’ve achieved despite not even being a big creator yet, the things I’ve achieved are not normal things for a small upcoming creator like myself to achieve, for example I’ve been on netflix because of one of my youtube videos, I’m literally the first youtuber from the entirety of my borough to ever be on netflix which is not normal for a creator of my level as this is something you’d normally expect from a big creator with millions of followers.
It’s one of the main reasons I always say to people that if they have a goal, put God first and pray about that goal but you also must put in the work so the blessing can meet you halfway, I’m living proof of this and I’ve not even made it yet so just imagine what’s due to come when I actually do make it.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
See back in 2020 when I had my first channel I sadly lost it during the time I was on the verge of blowing up on there, to say it didn’t affect me at the time would be me telling a lie, I was heavily demotivated but at the time my friends kept pushing me to start again and were sure that I’d be able to bounce right back with that, I started again and started to put in way more work than I did on my first channel, it was then in 2022 I started to see results, that year was the year I started to gain a lot of traction on my channel, most people in my situation would’ve just given up no matter what but after witnessing friends and mutuals of mine who are big content creators do a meet and greet and shutting a whole city down, that boosted my motivation to come back even more.
One thing I always say is to never dwell on an L because the bounce back will always be bigger. fast forward to now, I’ve been on magazine pages, been on twitter trending, gone viral on tiktok quite a couple of times hitting millions upon millions of views, had KSI, the youtuber who even inspired me to start youtube in the first place react to one of my videos and up till now my clip is the most replayed part and the fact that I’ve been on netflix.
Had I have allowed myself to dwell on the loss of my first channel I would’ve quit and wouldn’t be where I am today and would’ve had no clue what opportunities I could’ve had.
I can happily say that through my resilience and perseverance, I made a comeback bigger than anything I’d have ever expected. it’s kind of the inspiration behind my motto #TTP (Trust The Process)

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The audience I have right now follow me because of my personality, the content I produce and how creative my ideas are, if there was any advice I could give to anyone starting out it’s this:
1. discipline yourself into never getting demotivated or thinking you don’t have a chance at making it, it’s a very difficult thing to do, even I’ve struggled with this a couple times but once you’ve overcome it and apply that discipline, you will go far
2. find a niche you enjoy posting on and stick with it, especially with tiktok because that app operates on niches mainly, once you find your flow on what to post, keep shooting forward
3. Please do NOT and I mean DO NOT let the opinions of others get to you, you are going to have people you personally know not support you and try to tell you not to post but it will be random people online who will support, this isn’t always the case because you will also have or meet people who will support your goals heavily, I personally had people I knew telling me to quit etc. same time I have a whole group of friends who support me and what I do,
4. Put God First (this should even be number 1 if I’m being honest) any goal you have, put God first before that goal, pray about it as well, have a relationship with God and also put it in the work, you’ll see the blessing of you achieving your goals meeting you halfway, because praying without locking in is useless, same with locking in without praying. James 2:17 “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
Everything I’m saying here is what I’m living proof of. believe in yourself as well, you genuinely have to be delusional about wanting to make it to the top, I’m nowhere near where I want to be yet but I can genuinely feel it coming
