We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karmyn Rivera a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Karmyn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The story behind my mission began with a deep desire to build generational wealth and create opportunities for others to do the same. I launched Boujee Bawse LLC to empower individuals—especially women and aspiring entrepreneurs—by providing luxury beauty, retail, and digital marketing resources that help them elevate their lives and businesses. I’ve always believed that financial independence and ownership are the keys to freedom, and I wanted to create a brand that not only offers high-quality products and services but also educates and inspires others to step into their own power. My journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has fueled my commitment to helping others succeed on their own terms.

Karmyn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Karmyn, the founder of Boujee Bawse LLC, a multi-industry business focused on beauty, retail, luxury services, and digital marketing. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset, and from the start, I knew I wanted to create something bigger than myself—something that would build generational wealth and give others the tools to do the same. My brand is all about luxury, empowerment, and ownership, helping people elevate their businesses, finances, and lifestyles.
I got into business because I never liked the idea of working to make someone else rich. I believe in creating my own lane, owning my time, and controlling my future. That’s what led me to build Boujee Bawse LLC, which is not just a brand but an empire in the making. I provide high-quality beauty products, digital marketing resources, and entrepreneurial education, helping others turn their dreams into reality.
One thing that sets me apart is my mindset—I’ve always been focused on the bigger picture. I don’t just sell products or services; I create opportunities and platforms for others to grow and succeed. At the same time, I’m a very private person. I’ve always told myself I would work hard, stay focused, and build my wealth quietly. I don’t want to be in the spotlight—I just want to be rich and private. This interview is probably one of the only times people will really get to see or hear about me. But at the end of the day, my work and my impact will speak for itself.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, my side hustle turned into my full-time business. I got tired of working for someone else, but I knew I had to be strategic. So, I kept working until I was able to fund my business the way I wanted to. When I started, I was selling clothes out of the trunk of my car, going around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, hustling to make sales. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was the foundation of what I’m building today. That experience taught me the power of persistence, branding, and meeting people where they are. From there, I kept reinvesting, expanding, and turning my vision into a reality. Now, Boujee Bawse LLC is more than just a business—it’s an empire in the making.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most defining moments of resilience in my journey happened early on when things weren’t going as planned. I had big dreams for Boujee Bawse LLC, but the reality of starting a business was much harder than I imagined. There were times when I had to push through, working long hours, dealing with financial setbacks, and balancing life’s challenges. I remember when I was still in the early stages, trying to fund my business and not having much to show for it. At one point, I almost gave up. But instead of quitting, I focused on what I could control—my mindset, my hustle, and my ability to keep learning. I kept grinding, reinvesting every penny into my business. Over time, things started clicking. Now, looking back, I realize that resilience wasn’t just about pushing through the tough times—it was about staying focused, adapting, and knowing that failure wasn’t an option. That mindset has been key to building my brand into what it is today.
