We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Facundo Guerrero a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Facundo, thanks for joining us today. Covid has brought about so many changes – has your business model changed?
COVID made us quickly change many processes as an agency, as we stopped having an office where we worked as a team every day in person, and instead, each of us started working from home, forming small sub-teams to serve each of our clients in the best way possible and trying to meet all their needs. What’s interesting is that at that time, many companies needed to transition to a digital format and improvise ways and strategies to sell in a situation where in-person interaction was impossible. Many products became completely disconnected from what could be done in everyday life, so we had to adjust many processes in acquiring new clients, onboarding, and configuring each one. We quickly advanced in our daily work with small teams that were able to attend to our clients back then, and these teams still operate this way today, achieving high performance and having very clear objectives regarding what tasks need to be done and what each team member is responsible for.

Facundo, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
At that time, we helped countless companies develop new sales strategies, assisted in digitalizing many of their processes, their overall communication, and in figuring out how to continue selling during a moment when the rules of the game changed completely, and they had to adapt to what was possible.
Back then, our client focus was directed toward mass consumer goods companies on one hand and real estate developers on the other, which meant we had to focus on reorganizing their communication strategies. We had to figure out how, on one side, to keep selling for mass consumer goods companies, and on the other, how to explain to investors and end customers of the units what was happening with their properties, how the construction processes were unfolding, and how the situation and the lack of in-person presence on site were affecting real estate developments.

Any advice for managing a team?
As the director of my agency and manager of multiple teams, my strategy is always based on ensuring that everyone has clear objectives and knows exactly what they need to do, as well as their short, medium, and long-term goals with each of their clients and for their professional development in daily life. My experience working as an employee in corporations taught me that the best type of work is the one where you know when it starts and when it ends, without the need to follow strict schedules, without being obligated to go to an office, or staying at your workplace if you don’t have something specific to do. The best way to maintain high morale in my teams is by always giving them time for leisure, personal activities, and managing their schedules in a way that’s comfortable for them. However, it’s important to always keep in mind that the only thing we should focus on are the daily objectives and understanding that we’re here to serve our clients, to ensure they have a great experience and meet their goals. But also, we’re all human, and when a team is doing well personally, it reflects positively on the team and in the daily work.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The reputation our agency has today is closely tied to our slogan: Results-Driven Digital Marketing. From day one, we understood that each client has a clear objective, whether it’s to sell more, attract more potential customers, or schedule appointments in the case of a service offered. That is their primary goal, and it’s the one we aim to achieve. We try to focus all our efforts there, not getting distracted by what to do in terms of image, what we post on our social profiles, or what the company does on a day-to-day basis. Instead, we focus on truly showcasing what makes our business successful and ensuring that every day we can sell more and help grow the company we work with.
