We recently connected with Ron Miears and have shared our conversation below.
Ron, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
In short, we put people before profits and treat people how we want to be treated with a heavy emphasis on building long term relationships.
We are more than willing to help with the small things that build customer faith and loyalty even when it’s not a larger, profitable project.
It can be a very stressful process right after a storm with all the chaos of multiple companies coming out of the wood work pressing folks for decisions. We take the time to educate our customers on the whole process from start to finish so they can make an informed, comfortable decision. Insurance claims can become very confusing and it is our goal to take as much stress out of the process as possible so they feel good about their decision and awareness of all that is going on.
We also know that many roofs can be repaired, especially commercially, are are happy to make those recommendations when it is in the owners best interest to repair as opposed to pursue replacement.
We believe in loving our neighbor as ourselves, no matter what the situation.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
One of our long time vendors recently told me that he thinks of us as “The Peoples Roofer”
I thanked him and asked him to please elaborate on what he meant exactly. In a nutshell he told me that in his time of working with us he has noticed multiple members of the team doing and saying things that are not typical in the industry. In a commission sales driven environment it is very common for all comments and behaviors to be designed to close the customer on the proposal as fast as possible and move on to the next one. We look at things very differently knowing that fact of how things are typically done.
I knew I wanted to do things differently when I started this company a little over 10 years ago. We have built a core of tradesmen that we have long term relationships with which fosters trust and excellent work quality and communication. We treat others how we want to be treated simply put and that goes for all of our current and prospective customers in the future.
Business wise we cross all the T’s and dot the I’s to make sure we have the best people, insurance and relationships possible. We endeavor to create the best experience for our customers with the ultimate hope of ongoing, repeat business with them, their friends and family.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Historically it has been referrals and repeat business.
That has worked in the past and to a degree still does, however, with the market place become more and more crowded in our industry we are now focusing heavily on our online and social media presence to get our way of doing things out into the general public

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When we started the business back in 2014 we were coming off of one of the toughest personal and business years of my life. Against the advice of mentors, I had gone into a business partnership that I was warned would fail and it did. We all have to fail forward sometimes right ?
The previous business was closed while still owing debt and those debt’s had to be paid. While working through the process of paying off all those debts I decided, on faith, to open our current business with no money, or credit at the time thinking “what do I have to lose at this point” Most of us have been in similar situations at one time, or another in one way, or another. We had no where to go, but up.
One day at a time, one customer at a time by God’s grace we started climbing up and out of where we were. By the end of year 2, all debts had been paid in full and we had the best year of my life up to that point business wise. I was raised by very hard working, self employed parents and grand parents. I credit their work ethic example as one of the motivating factors that kept me going on during some very dark days in our first year.
