Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyler Stehlik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tyler, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At Livestock Nutrition Supplies LLC, our mission is rooted in our own experiences as farmers and ranchers. We know firsthand the challenges of keeping livestock healthy while maintaining a profitable operation. This business was born out of a simple but powerful belief: if we wouldn’t put something into our own animals, we wouldn’t sell it to others.
Our commitment starts with the highest quality ingredients—every product is held to the same standard as if it were being consumed by humans. We refuse to use unnecessary fillers or bonding agents, ensuring that every supplement is as effective and palatable as possible. We also understand that input costs are high, and we’re dedicated to helping fellow farmers maximize efficiency by creating products that allow livestock to absorb the most nutrients from their diets.
Our mission is deeply personal. Over the years, we’ve seen how proper nutrition can transform an animal’s health, performance, and longevity. That’s why we continuously research evolving nutritional requirements across multiple species and listen closely to our customers’ feedback. By staying proactive, we’re not just selling a product—we’re helping hardworking farmers and ranchers succeed.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those who may not know me, my journey into the livestock nutrition industry was shaped by both my professional background and personal experience as a farmer. Before founding Livestock Nutrition Supplies LLC, I spent 17 years in manufacturing—four years as a department manager and 13 years as a quality manager. At the same time, I was running a farm outside of work, always looking for ways to improve the health and productivity of my livestock.
Like many farmers, I started incorporating livestock supplements into my operation, but I wasn’t seeing the results I expected. That all changed when I had the opportunity to shadow a late friend who had been in the livestock supplement industry for decades. He was an incredible mentor, and his passion for livestock nutrition sparked my own. Through him, I gained invaluable knowledge, acquired some of his trusted recipes, and formed great relationships with his industry contacts.
In January 2022, I launched Livestock Nutrition Supplies LLC, determined to create high-quality, effective supplements that truly make a difference. I dedicated myself to studying nutrition, working with veterinarians and nutritionists, and formulating new recipes that focus on key areas such as feed efficiency, growth, lactation, reproduction, immune health, and nutrient absorption. Beyond our specialized formulations, we also offer individual minerals, understanding that nutritional needs change throughout the year and that unexpected challenges arise in livestock operations.
What sets us apart is our commitment to quality and transparency—we don’t use unnecessary fillers, and every product is designed with the same care as if we were feeding our own animals. I take immense pride in the relationships we’ve built with farmers, ranchers, and industry experts, as well as the positive impact our supplements have had on livestock health and farm efficiency.
At the end of the day, our mission is simple: help fellow farmers succeed by providing reliable, research-backed nutrition solutions. I want our customers to know that we stand behind our products, continuously innovate based on real-world needs, and always put animal health first.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
We sell our products directly through our website and ship straight to our customers. This approach allows us to maintain full control over the quality, packaging, and accuracy of every order. By managing our own sales platform, we eliminate the fees associated with third-party marketplaces like Amazon or Etsy, which means we can pass those cost savings on to our customers.
One of the biggest advantages of selling directly is the ability to provide personalized service and direct communication with our customers. We know that every livestock operation has unique needs, and we want to be available to answer questions and offer guidance on the best nutritional solutions.
A potential downside is that we don’t have the built-in traffic that platforms like Amazon provide, so we rely on word-of-mouth, marketing, and customer trust to grow our brand. However, we believe that by offering high-quality products at competitive prices with exceptional service, we can continue building strong, long-term relationships with our customers.
Ultimately, our goal is to deliver the best possible products with complete transparency, and selling through our own website allows us to do exactly that.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my most memorable sales experiences happened while I was attending a conference in another state. At the time, I had been using a particular web host for about six months, but I quickly learned just how unreliable it could be at the worst possible moment.
A potential new customer was dealing with an urgent situation—one of her goats had given birth, and the baby was facing unforeseen health issues. She needed a specific product that she couldn’t find anywhere else, so she went to my website to place an order. Unfortunately, my web host wouldn’t process the transaction, leaving her stuck. She called my business directly, but since I was the only employee at the time and in the middle of the conference, I missed the call.
As soon as I saw the voicemail come through, I stepped out of the event to listen. The urgency in her voice was clear—this wasn’t just about making a sale; it was about helping save an animal’s life. I called her back immediately, and we tried multiple times to process the order online, but nothing worked. Even when I attempted to enter it manually on my end, the system refused to cooperate.
Realizing we were out of options, I told her, “Don’t worry about payment right now. I’ll make sure the product gets to you as soon as possible, and we can work out the details later.” She agreed, and I immediately called my neighbor, who was handling packaging for me while I was away. Within an hour, the order was packed, and I arranged for UPS to pick it up for expedited shipping.
The product arrived just in time, and it was exactly what she needed to nurse the baby goat back to good health. That moment reinforced why I do what I do—it’s not just about selling products; it’s about helping farmers and ranchers when they need it most.
As soon as I returned home, I switched to a new web host that would never put my customers in that kind of situation again. Looking back, what could have been a lost sale turned into something much more meaningful—it built trust, loyalty, and a deeper purpose behind my business.
