We recently connected with Megan Pruett and have shared our conversation below.
Megan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Having been brought up in a wine-enthusiast family, decadent wine has been effortlessly decanted and poured throughout my family home, making the mundane days magical and special events idyllic. The aroma of a freshly opened Cabernet Sauvignon swirling around a Bordeaux glass is a luxury I hope all individuals get the pleasure of experiencing. But, in the Spring of 2023, I made the personal decision to remove alcohol from my life. And, like many things, growth requires sacrifice, which left me to say goodbye to a joy I had held so profoundly, which included the taste, feel, and ambiance of a beautifully crafted, full-bodied wine – or so I thought.
As I navigated through my first year of sobriety, I found myself having to repeatedly explain why I made the decisions I did, such as:
“Why are you sober if you don’t have a drinking problem?”
“Why are you drinking N/A wine when it’s just juice?”
“Why would you spend money on something that doesn’t have booze?”
Rather than becoming frustrated with these questions, I took matters into my own hands, and from there, Same Table was born—a product, community, and mindset that embraces the notion that what you love never needs to be explained. To adopt this narrative, I began to challenge the idea that alcohol-free wine is not only for sober or non-drinking communities but rather serves to bring inclusivity to every table around the world.
Megan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
About Me (The Founder):
Having nearly ten years of experience in brand marketing and advertising, I understand that a thriving brand relies on creating a sense of community and belonging that connects consumers. Inspired by my commitment to authenticity and connection, I utilized my alcohol-free lifestyle to create a product and community that embodies the belief that your love doesn’t need to be explained. Recognizing the potential to innovate within the growing non-alcoholic wine industry, I pinpointed a gap. I approached this with creativity, sincerity, and determination, positioning myself at the leading edge of the flourishing non-alcoholic market while ensuring Same Table becomes a well-known brand.
Problem:
Adopting an alcohol-free lifestyle has become more than just a personal choice; it now represents a set of values and a way of life. Many individuals choosing to abstain from alcohol struggle with the challenge of maintaining social connections and feeling included in gatherings where drinking is the norm. They often worry about standing out, feeling isolated, or even missing out on the taste and ambiance that usually accompanies sharing a drink around a table. This situation has created a demand for alternatives that enable them to engage fully in social events without compromising their commitment to avoid alcohol.
With the significant growth in the non-alcoholic market, projected to reach a volume of $237 billion globally by 2026, a remarkable variety of products has emerged, including beverages like N/A aperitifs, sparkling teas, and alcohol-free beer. The only missing element is high-quality wines that look, feel, and taste like the real thing. Until Now.
Solution:
Whether you live an alcohol-free lifestyle or are just abstaining for the night, Same Table is the solution for those who want to embrace being alcohol-free while still feeling connected and included in social settings. Unlike traditional soft drinks or water, Same Table’s high-quality alcohol-removed wine offers the same sophisticated flavors, aromas, and experience as its alcoholic counterpart, allowing people to partake in the ritual of toasting, sipping, and celebrating, all for the love of wine.
Same Table bridges the gap between abstaining from alcohol and maintaining a sense of togetherness, ensuring that those who choose not to drink can engage fully in gatherings without feeling left out. By offering a refined, elevated N/A wine, Same Table allows individuals to stay true to their personal choices while fostering inclusion and shared experiences.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Establishing a robust social media presence before our launch has been crucial in showing investors market validation for our product. As we prepare for our Fall 2025 launch, Same Table has significantly expanded our audience through purely organic marketing efforts. By leveraging short-form content and high-quality photography on essential platforms (such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube), I aimed to convince my audience that non-alcoholic wine can be perceived as “chic & sexy,” while also challenging the perception that non-alcoholic wine is only for those who are sober or non-drinkers. In reality, it’s for anyone who loves wine.
For those just beginning to establish their social media footprint, prioritize consistency, value, and engagement. Select one or two platforms where your target audience is most active and publish high-quality content regularly. Ensure your content is either entertaining, educational, or inspiring while remaining true to your brand’s personality. Engage with your audience by replying to comments, joining discussions, and partnering with others in your field. Leverage trending topics, hashtags, and content formats to boost visibility, but always infuse your unique perspective. Remember, growth takes time; stay patient, assess what works, and refine your strategy based on what connects best with your audience.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Early in my journey, a prospective investor advised me to “slow down” regarding product development. At that moment, hearing this was challenging—I was driven, moving quickly, and eager to realize my vision. It felt like a setback to slow down, but looking back, it was the best advice I could have received. Rather than rushing ahead, I took a moment to assess every facet of the business: market fit, scalability, customer needs, and long-term strategy. That pause enabled me to enhance the product, fortify the foundation, and ultimately develop something far more sustainable and impactful. What seemed like resistance at the time became a crucial lesson in patience, strategy, and resilience.
