We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Estelle Ramisha. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Estelle below.
Estelle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I grew up learning that education is important. My dad always said it’s important to have some kind of diploma so I always have something to fall back on when necessary. It just means more security. My mom’s a singer too and because of her I don’t know any different then to sing. When I was 7 years old, I started writing my first stories and songs. I started singing at school as well.
In high school I started taking vocal classes in order to get more control of my voice. Growing up, my dad told me so many things about life and I took most of the lessons to heart. One of them was him telling me that I’d have to come up with an idea and work it out. Another one was “Make sure you can handle everything yourself. That you do not have to depend on anybody.” So these two alone, were basically him telling me to build my own succes.
I studied creative business and finished my bachelor’s degree. In December 2020 I started teaching as a vocal coach and working full time as a copywriter for a marketing company. Because I started working since I was 14 years old, I realized by this time that no job was going to make me happy if it didn’t include my passion.
So starting 2024 I said to myself “I’m just going to take a leap of faith and just put in a full 100 percent into my own businesses.” So in 2024 I was a vocal coach for three days, an artist for at least 70 percent of the time and a barber for two days. I worked almost every day of the week and did not go on vacation once.
Results: being tired a lot at some point. It is hard work that turns out to be very exhausting, but my hard work did pay off. I set goals for myself at the beginning of the year and started working on them. I started creating a team, creating an album, improved my skills, enhanced my network and in 4 months I was able to afford rent for my first house at age 25.

Estelle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My mom is also a singer. Because of that I also started singing. My fantasy has always been big as a kid. So when I was 7 years old I started drawing and writing my first stories and songs. I’ve always liked performing and writing and singing has always been my way to express myself. As I got older my love for creating grew fonder. I took vocal classes to get my voice under control. I started making music with other people, listening to different types of music. I sang in a Gospel Choir for three years and had a lot of gigs with then too. Performed for some other events in great venues in the Netherlands as well, like Ziggo Dome, AFAS Live and Paradiso.
Always thought I’d started teaching once I made my career, but then I posted on Instagram that I was teaching my younger brother some techniques. I got some good reactions on that post and started working as a vocal coach ever since.
I’ve noticed that my approach to life is different than most people. I wouldn’t say I’m different from others by choice. I’ve never really been part of a group, but I’ve always been good with everyone. I’m more of a wanderer, but I don’t think I’m better or anything. Anyone can do what I do, the main difference is that I just do it and I am me. Whenever I say I’m going to do something, I will. Only way I am not a woman of my word is when my perspective changes and I find another way.
I am most proud of myself for taking the risks and the fact that I keep on learning. I’m still not where I want to be and I keep working on it. I’d love for everyone to know that I stand for growth and passion. Follow my path on socials and stream my music. @native.officialmusic on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. I also do online classes as a vocal coach, @goodvibesvocals.nl on Instagram and TikTok. I have more music releases and an album coming up.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I like this question, because I didn’t know it was a thing until it happened a few times in short period of time. The most rewarding aspect of being an artist, to me, is when other people, but especially other creatives/artists get inspired by me or my work. I always say; “inspiring others is an achievement, not a goal.” I make music, because eventhough I tried to quit it several times, it keeps finding it’s way back to me. So this time I decided to give it an honest try and try to make the best of it and take it as far as I can go. On one condition though and that is that I have to stand by everything that goes out. So I make music mainly for myself and said to myself; “I’m just doing me and see how big it can get. I don’t care about fame, I care about my product. So even if I will never be one of the biggest artists ever, that’s okay, as long as I am proud of what I made and I stand by my products.” So if people do not like my work, that’s fine with me. You cannot be for everybody. When someone does get inspired by me or my work though, that means to me that this person changed something in their perspective in order to do or be better than before. I stand for growth and passion, so to me, inspiring someone to grow, be better or feel better, that’s an achievement to me. You cannot force someone to change by heart and soul. So when I can do that, just by being myself, that is a reward to me.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I am a sucker for books. Eventhough I have not made much time for it lately, I am trying to read more these days. Who knows, maybe I’ll write my own book one day. I’ve studied creative business, which is basically management in the creative branche. So I’ve learned quite some things during my studies. During several masterclasses from people in the field, other succes stories and some books I’ve read, I started to realize that everyone basically says “I just went ahead and did it.” No one really knows what the outcome will be and if their plans will result in succes, but the catch is that you’ll never find out if you don’t give it a try. School thaught me to have an airtight plan before you do something. The workfield thaught me that even if you have an airtight plan, it always plays out differently, but you can still achieve your goals. Reading “Start With Why” I realized that it’s most important to know why you’re doing what you’re doing, because it’s the gass to your car. It’s your motivation to get yourself moving forward. Reading just the first chapters of “Think and Grow Rich” actually confirmed to me that it’s important to start doing what you’re thinking even if you don’t know where to start, just go and don’t think about it too much. Also it was clear to me that consistency in your work, discipline in your life and dedication are important keys to achieving your goals. I haven’t read more than the first couple of chapters of neither books to get these messages, but I they spoke to me loud and clear. Putting in the work is difficult sometimes, I find. Sometimes I struggle and don’t even know what I’m doing or how I should continue working on certain parts of the job. It’s a process, but I enjoy every part of it, because where there’s darkness, there’s light. Even if the light is hard to find sometimes, it’s an euphoric feeling hardly anything can beat when it shines on you.
