Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlee Bruno.

Hi Marlee, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I put myself through college and grad school with the dream of working in medicine. Once I graduated, I worked in emergency medicine for 10 years before I got very burned out and decided to try something new. It was so exhilarating and rewarding being an integral part of saving lives–but that’s where my role ended. I never got the chance to know what happened to my patients, I would find myself wondering if they ever fully recovered, or if they changed the bad habits that got them to the ER in the first place. I wanted to form a more personal connection with my patients. So, I decided to start my own wellness and aesthetics practice, Mind Body & Soul Medical.

During that transition, I noticed I craved more mental and emotional support, so I actually became a certified master life coach. Once I started in aesthetics, many other providers took notice of my natural teaching abilities, and that’s what prompted me to start the Injector Coach Institute, a training academy for other licensed healthcare providers to learn how to become aesthetic injectors.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t know that I’ve ever traveled a smooth road at any stage in my life. Struggles along the way included working a full-time job as a physician associate in the ER while working full-time hours in my medical practice–I still don’t know how I was able to do that. Other struggles still include managing several businesses while being a busy mother and wife. I have two small children, and I am very committed to being a present mother, after having grown up without one, myself. Perhaps the most difficult challenge is managing people within my businesses. I make it my mission to employ very empowered women and require them to demonstrate leadership qualities. That can be both very challenging and very rewarding.

Patients are embracing the idea of subtlety, balance and authenticity–as a practitioner, it’s incredibly rewarding to see this mindset taking hold.

But the transformation doesn’t stop at aesthetics. The healthcare model in the United States is also starting to pivot toward what I believe is a much-needed focus on holistic wellness. We’re moving away from a reactive approach—where we wait for people to get sick and then scramble to treat them—toward a proactive model that prioritizes prevention, quality of life, and longevity. This shift means empowering people to lead healthier lives through education, lifestyle changes, and integrative care.
