Leslie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
What started as a simple idea quickly took on a life of its own. I wanted to learn how to play golf after receiving several invitations to hit the course, but I had no clue what I was doing. Then, as I became more involved in the real estate industry, I found myself invited to charity golf tournaments alongside colleagues. That’s when I realized—I needed to at least learn the basics.
But I knew one thing for sure: I didn’t want to learn alone. After moving back to my hometown of Richmond, VA, I saw an opportunity to not only develop my own skills but also connect with other women who might feel the same way. So, I decided to host a golf clinic. What I didn’t expect was just how many women shared this desire—our very first event nearly sold out, and by the end of our first season, we had welcomed over 200 women!
Honestly, this journey has been nothing short of divine. I didn’t have all the answers at the start—I just took one step at a time, trusting the vision as it unfolded. First, I came up with a name and found a location. I knew we’d need a great trainer, so I reached out to a friend who worked for a new construction community on a golf course. That connection led me to a club and a golf pro, and from there, the goal was simple: create an unforgettable first event and see how people responded.
I wanted to make golf an experience—something women would be excited to share with their friends. So, I infused elements I personally loved. We turned our clinics into celebrations, incorporating a floral bar where guests could create their own bouquets. We partnered with the Forward Foundation to spread awareness of their incredible mission. And, of course, we golfed, we socialized, and we had an amazing time!
Ladies Golf Too has become more than I ever imagined—a community, a movement, and a space where women can build confidence, connections, and skills both on and off the green.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Leslie Marie Moseley—a Real Estate Advisor, Media Personality, and Founder of Ladies Golf Too. My journey into real estate was driven by my passion for homes and my desire to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. It’s an incredible industry that allows me to be part of pivotal moments—whether helping a growing family find more space, guiding a grieving spouse through a transition, or supporting someone as they step into a new chapter. Every transaction is unique, and being a trusted advisor during life’s most significant milestones is truly rewarding.
Beyond real estate, I have the privilege of sharing insights about my community’s real estate market and lifestyle as a TV Host on The American Dream TV Show. This platform also enables me to uplift small businesses by bringing awareness to their brands—an aspect of my work that I find especially fulfilling.
Ladies Golf Too started as a passion project and has since grown into something extraordinary—a diverse and empowering community of women who come together to build connections, refine our networking skills, and learn the game of golf.
What I’m most proud of is that I don’t have to choose between my passions. I’m a multifaceted professional who thrives at the intersection of real estate, media, and community building, seamlessly doing what I love in unison.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my commitment to excellence has been instrumental in building my reputation within the market. As the saying goes, “How you show up in one area of life is how you’ll show up in others,” and that’s a principle I live by. One of my core values is creating meaningful experiences. Whether I’m working with a client in real estate, appearing on The American Dream, or hosting a golf clinic, my goal is always the same: to leave a lasting impression and ensure that I’m leaving people better than I found them.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
A book that has without a doubt influenced my entrepreneurial mindset and overall philosophy on life is The Four Agreements. I was introduced to this book years ago, and while I have many favorites, this one has truly stood the test of time. It’s an incredibly practical read that offers timeless wisdom, teaching you how to navigate relationships, communicate effectively, and, most importantly, not take things personally.
