Brittany , appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
Looking back, I definitely wish I had embraced my creative side and started my content creation journey much sooner. I began about a year ago, but I let self-doubt hold me back for far too long. I was convinced that my life wasn’t “aesthetic” enough or that no one would be interested in what I had to share. It’s funny because I’ve always been drawn to social media and loved documenting my everyday experiences. But fear and insecurity kept me from taking the leap and pursuing it as a career.
If I could go back, I would tell myself to be bolder and more optimistic. I’d remind myself that anyone can create content and find their audience.
The pandemic actually sparked a creative awakening for me. My ideas were flowing, and I was experimenting with different ways to express myself. In hindsight, I wish I had capitalized on that momentum and really gone for it. Who knows where I’d be now?
Even though I started later than I would have liked, I’m embracing the journey and excited to see where it takes me. I’m still working my full-time job, but I’m dedicated to building my creative career and sharing my passions with the world
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi everyone, I’m Be! I’m a 36-year-old single mom and nurse living in Fort Worth, Texas. I’ve been a nurse for many years, specializing in home visits. Becoming a mom at 18 really shaped my empathy and ability to connect with people, especially those navigating new experiences. About a year ago, I took a leap of faith and started creating content online. Storytelling and humor have always come naturally to me – I have a lot going on in my brain, and laughter is my way of decompressing! I wanted to create a space where people could learn, laugh, and feel a sense of community.
What sets me apart? I’m all about authenticity and positivity. What you see online is what you get in real life. I’m passionate about fostering a supportive community and believe in honest reviews delivered with kindness. However, I also believe in respect. While I prefer to keep things positive, I won’t tolerate negativity or disrespect towards myself or others in my community. Come with respect, or be prepared to get called out!
I’m also a big believer in helping others. While I’m still new to the content creation world, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned and offer any guidance I can.
I’m incredibly proud of the community we’re building. It’s a place where people can connect, support each other, and have a good laugh. If you’re looking for authentic, relatable content with a focus on positivity and community, then come join the fun!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a content creator is the ability to use my voice to amplify the stories of others, especially small businesses that might not have the resources to reach a wider audience. Even with a smaller following, I know I can make a real impact. For example, I recently created a video for a local business called Main Dish Salad Co. That video ended up being seen by Mr. Chimetime, and it really helped give them a boost. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my work can connect deserving businesses with a larger audience and contribute to their success.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn was the need to be perfect. For a long time, I felt pressure to present this polished, ‘clean girl’ aesthetic, like so many others online. But that’s just not me! My life is messy, busy, and lived-in – I’m a single mom juggling a lot! I thought I had to hide that to be successful, but I was wrong. What I discovered was that people really connected with my authenticity. They related to the struggles, the chaos, the realness of it all. Showing the ‘rocky parts of living,’ being vulnerable, even crying on camera – that’s what made my content different.
It’s funny, because I have ADHD, and I can’t remember a lie to save my life! So, it’s actually easier to just be myself. Embracing that has been liberating, and it’s allowed me to connect with my audience on a much deeper level.
