Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amir Pierre. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amir , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was stepping into entrepreneurship. I was raised with the belief that the only path to success was working a steady job for someone else until retirement. But deep down, I always felt drawn to something more—something that allowed me to create, build, and grow on my own terms. That desire for independence pushed me to take a leap of faith into the unknown.
At 23, I started my first business—a landscaping company. That experience laid the foundation for my entrepreneurial mindset, teaching me the value of hard work, persistence, and adaptability. From there, I expanded into real estate remodeling, a completely different ballgame with new challenges. I took losses, faced setbacks, and had to learn many lessons the hard way. But through every obstacle, I gained invaluable knowledge and experience that shaped me into the leader I am today.
Coming from a single-parent household, raised by a mother of five with no father present, I had to figure out a lot on my own. That’s why one of the biggest lessons I share with young people is this: Before you take on any major role in life, make sure you know exactly what you want and commit to it. Along the way, stay focused, constantly improve yourself, and be patient. Most importantly, believe—believe in something greater than yourself and believe in your own ability to succeed.
Taking the risk to become an entrepreneur wasn’t easy, but it was the best decision I ever made. It gave me the freedom to create my own path, and more importantly, it positioned me to inspire and help others do the same.

Amir , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I became a Self-Mastery Strategist (personal development coach) because, ever since I was a child, I had an unshakable drive to keep improving, no matter what. Along my journey, I realized that I wanted to become the person I needed when I was younger—a leader, a mentor, and a guide who could teach not just how to succeed in life, but how to become the best version of yourself as a man and as a human being. That purpose led me to where I am today.
My personal experiences—growing up without a father, struggling with a lack of direction, and facing challenges in relationships—became the foundation of my mission. These obstacles shaped my passion for personal growth, leadership development, and resilience training. Today, with over six years of experience in mentorship, motivational speaking, and personal development coaching, I empower young men, professionals, and the next generation to navigate their paths with confidence, emotional intelligence, and self-discipline.

My Mission & What I Stand For
I believe everyone has greatness within them. The key to unlocking it lies in understanding your unique learning style, developing the right mindset, and taking consistent action. Success isn’t reserved for the lucky—it’s built by those who are willing to grow, grind, and believe in themselves.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Absolutely! As I mentioned earlier, I’ve always had an unshakable urge to keep improving, and reading has played a major role in shaping my mindset and entrepreneurial philosophy. Books like Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason, and As a Man Thinketh by James Allen, all have been deeply influential in my journey.
I’ve come to understand that everything we want to achieve starts in the mind. These books—and the great thinkers behind them—have reinforced the idea that success, wealth, and growth are all products of mindset, discipline, and belief. Their teachings on the power of thought, financial wisdom, and self-mastery have been invaluable, shaping the way I approach business, leadership, and life.
Beyond books, I’ve also drawn inspiration from motivational speakers, thought leaders, and personal development mentors who emphasize the same principles of mental resilience, strategic thinking, and purpose-driven success. Whether through books, videos, or real-world experiences, I remain a student of growth, discipline, and personal mastery—because the more I learn, the more I can serve and impact others.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that life will automatically give you whatever you ask for. I used to think that if I wanted success, happiness, or financial freedom, all I had to do was wish for it, work hard, and wait for it to come. But life quickly showed me that it doesn’t work that way.
I had to learn that desire alone isn’t enough—you don’t get what you ask for, you get what you’re truly prepared for. I learned this through hard experience. Early in my entrepreneurial journey, I launched my first business thinking that passion and hard work alone would guarantee success. But after facing losses, failures, and setbacks, I realized that success isn’t just about working hard—it’s about working smart, adapting, and continuously learning.
Life doesn’t give you what you want—it gives you what you’re willing to fight for, sacrifice for, and discipline yourself to earn. Once I unlearned that passive mindset and replaced it with a mentality of preparation, strategy, and self-mastery, everything started to change.
Now, I teach others the same lesson: Stop just asking—start preparing, start executing, and start becoming the person who is ready to receive what you desire. That’s the real key to unlocking your potential.
