We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Frenchie Prestigiacomo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Frenchie below.
Hi Frenchie , thanks for joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
During the holidays, I create special goodie bags with personal notes to express my heartfelt gratitude. I also gift my clients something on their birthdays to make them feel special. They are always surprised and feel seen, which has helped us build strong relationships. In my presence, they feel safe and heard, and that means everything to me. I want them to know they are more than just clients they are truly appreciated.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Frenchie, and I’m the owner of excusemybeauté, a brand that blends beauty, self-care, and confidence. I specialize in lash extensions, lash lifts, waxing, and brow lamination, but my vision goes far beyond services .I’m building a beauty and lifestyle brand that includes skincare, cosmetics, and apparel.
My journey into the beauty industry started with a passion for helping people feel their best. Like many, I took a course to learn my craft, but I quickly realized there were gaps in the education provided. I had to invest in additional training and figure things out through experience. Now, I use my knowledge not only to provide top-tier services but also to educate and support others in the industry.
What sets me apart is the genuine connection I build with my clients. To me, they’re more than just appointments they’re people I care about. I go out of my way to make them feel safe, heard, and valued, whether it’s through meaningful conversations, personalized gifts for birthdays and holidays, or simply creating an environment where they can unwind.
I’m proud of the brand I’m creating, the relationships I’ve built, and the impact I’ve had on my clients’ confidence. My goal is to continue expanding excusemybeauté into a beauty, wellness, and fashion powerhouse one that inspires self-love and empowerment in every way.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Building a strong clientele comes down to providing an exceptional experience, creating genuine connections, and being intentional with growth strategies. Word-of-mouth is one of the most powerful ways to gain new clients, which is why making each appointment feel personal and memorable is so important. Social media also plays a huge role in attracting the right audience showcasing results, sharing client testimonials, and offering beauty tips help build trust and visibility. At the same time, fostering loyalty through referrals, exclusive promotions, and thoughtful touches, like remembering birthdays or preferences, keeps clients coming back. Networking with other professionals and continuously improving your craft also sets you apart, showing clients that they’re not just receiving a service but an experience tailored to them. By expanding your brand and staying consistent, you naturally create a loyal client base that grows with you.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that working harder doesn’t always mean achieving more. In the beginning, I believed that constantly grinding taking every client, saying yes to everything, and working long hours was the only way to build success. I thought if I wasn’t fully booked or always busy, I wasn’t doing enough.
But over time, I realized that burnout doesn’t lead to growth. I had to shift my mindset from just working hard to working smart. That meant setting boundaries, valuing my time, and focusing on quality over quantity. I learned that attracting the right clients, charging what I’m worth, and making intentional business decisions were far more effective than simply filling my schedule. Now, I prioritize balance, self-care, and strategic growth, knowing that success isn’t just about how much I do but how well I do it.
