Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Derrick Stamps. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Derrick, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
The risk I took was back in 2020. I went full speed and started a payment processing business with no experience. When Covid hit, I needed the money to be able to take care of my family. My wife is a stay-at-home Mom, so she takes care of our two kids. I saw an Ad on Facebook and immediately started learning the ropes. Fast forward to today, and we have close to 60 accounts. It has been a huge blessing to our family, and I am able to help other business owners along the way!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am 32 yeas old. I have a beautiful wife, and two wonderful kids. I have multiple businesses that I am a part of. With over a decade of experience in the PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Building) steel industry, I’ve developed a deep understanding of construction, project management, and the unique challenges that come with large-scale building projects. My passion for efficiency and innovation led me to expand into a platform I knew very little about, payment processing. I’ve spent the last four years building up Volunteer Payment Processing helping businesses streamline transactions and improve financial operations.
While my payments business is growing I had another business venture I wanted to create. I took my expertise to the digital space with SiteSee. We are a Tech Consultant Firm that specializes in logo design, website building, software development, and e-commerce platforms. We use 3D configuration to help customers have their own interface with what they are wanting to look at and/or purchase. It’s all at their fingertips. SiteSee is also a platform designed to revolutionize how contractors, developers, and business owners visualize and manage their projects both in person and virtually. My mission is to bridge the gap between technology and traditional industries, creating solutions that make business operations smoother, smarter, and more efficient.
Recently, I added another venture called Kingdom Entrepraynewr. It is a thriving community of entrepreneurs of faith, where we seek God’s guidance in our personal and professional journeys. We believe that when entrepreneurs are aligned with God’s purpose, the clarity, confidence, and character they develop naturally shine through in their businesses—regardless of industry or mission.
This is a place to bring your challenges to prayer, share testimonies of answered prayers, and support one another in taking bold steps forward. Through meaningful discussions, prayer gatherings, and shared insights, we strengthen not just our businesses, but the faith that fuels us.
Here, we don’t just navigate entrepreneurship alone—we invite God into the process. And as we witness His work in our lives, we celebrate together, knowing that success is more than just numbers—it’s about walking in faith, courage, and divine wisdom.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Yes! in the payment processing world, you have to make sure you are taking care of your customers. With our quickly gained traction among tech-savvy businesses that wanted to stay ahead of the curve, we had to do some pivoting. We had to provide easy-to-use tools for businesses to integrate new payment methods, ensuring they wouldn’t miss out on modern consumer preferences.
The pivot transformed our company from a standard payment processor to a leader in cutting-edge payment technology. We have successfully adapted to the future of commerce, proving that a well-timed pivot could turn potential decline into massive growth.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
My way of starting a business could be different from others, but I took out a loan to start my payments business. I saw the value and knew that I could get a ROI quick and be able to pay the loan off with my business plan.
