We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Seyi Solaru. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Seyi below.
Hi Seyi, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was investing £4,000 in an online course designed to teach people how to build a successful YouTube channel to grow a business.
At the time, I felt a strong calling toward creating content on YouTube. I had been an avid viewer, so I understood the basics, like needing a camera, lighting, and a setup, but I had no idea how to turn YouTube into a business or how to sell a service or product through it.
Financially, my husband and I had just purchased a buy to let property, so while we were stable, money wasn’t exactly abundant. The course was from a YouTuber I really admired, and it promised to teach the skills needed to grow a business online. But spending £4,000 upfront, without the option of instalments or using a credit card was a significant commitment.
It was a big risk because, at that point, I wasn’t even sure what kind of business I wanted to start, let alone whether it would generate an income.
What made this risk even more profound was that it challenged me beyond just the financial aspect. It pushed me to confront my own mindset around investing in myself without the guarantee of immediate returns. Spiritually, it was a growth moment as well because I felt called to pursue this path, even though the outcomes were uncertain.
In the end, I only actively pursued YouTube for a few months before other life circumstances required me to pause.
Despite that, I consider it a life-changing risk because it taught me invaluable lessons about trusting my instincts, being willing to invest in personal growth, and understanding my own risk tolerance. It also gave me clarity on how I approach big decisions, balancing logic with intuition.

Seyi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hiya!!! : )
I am Seyi, I am a Christian, wife of 12 years, and a mother to three wonderful children aged eight, seven, and three.
My career journey has been quite dynamic, I started out as a solicitor (still am by the way), ventured into property investing alongside my husband, and we now run a property management business together. I’ve also worked as a business coach, but after having my third child, I realized my passion was still there but the time I could dedicate just wasn’t there anymore, so I had to take a step back.
Right now, I’m focused on helping Christian mompreneurs through platforms like, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram to not only start and grow their businesses but be able to do it whilst in the season of motherhood. I’ve been on a veryyyy :) long journey to find my niche because I have a wide range of experiences I could speak about. parenting, marriage, motherhood, business, property investing, but what truly lights me up is helping overwhelmed Christian mums who are juggling the demands of family, faith, and entrepreneurship.
At the core of my work is problem-solving. I love listening to people’s challenges and helping them find structured, practical and biblically grounded solutions. My gifting is in administration, I thrive on organizing, planning, and creating systems that help life run more smoothly.
The problems I help solve include:
– Lack of balance between family, business, and faith
– Overwhelm from managing home life and entrepreneurship
– Fear and self-doubt when it comes to pursuing business goals
– Struggles with applying biblical principles in a fast-paced, secular culture
What sets me apart is my holistic, faith-driven approach. I don’t just offer productivity tips or business strategies, I focus on integrating biblical wisdom with practical tools. Whether it’s time management, simplifying family routines, or navigating business challenges, I provide help that’s relatable, honest, and rooted in scripture.
I’m most proud of the community I’m building, Christian mums who feel seen, heard, and supported in their unique journeys. My hope is that through my help, women will feel less overwhelmed and more empowered to live out their God-given purpose with confidence and grace.
At the end of the day, I want potential clients and followers to know that I’m not here as someone who has it all figured out. I’m walking this path too, trusting God, learning as I go, and sharing the lessons along the way. My brand isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, faith, and living with intention.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
wowza!! I honestly cant believe little ol me is in a position to answer the same question that I asked years ago! Growth is such a beautiful thing when you take the time to reflect, so I am going to share with you what I wish I was told many years back rather than having to DIY over the years.
Building my audience on social media has been a long journey filled with both intentional strategy (what does that even mean) and personal growth. When I say intentional strategy, all I mean at this stage is a willingness to sit down, plan what it is you want to do with your social media and be consistent with it. The reality is that some weeks will be better than some, but don’t let that stop you from pushing ahead, a new day is another opportunity to restart.
It is important to know that when you first start out, you don’t have to have everything figured out, I definitely didn’t, I wasn’t sure of my niche, and I struggled with balancing the different parts of my identity: motherhood, business, marriage, and faith, but helped me grow was leaning into the topics I was genuinely passionate about and being honest about my experiences.
Most importantly, stay true to who you are (and controversially, not necessarily who you want to become because I believe that sometimes, this is where some of the disconnect with your content starts to happen), because who you are right now is more than enough.
As we all know, social media can be noisy, but when you lead with purpose, faith, and authenticity, you’ll attract the people you’re meant to impact.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
As strange (or unstrange as it may sound to some, the most significant resource that has shaped my management and entrepreneurial thinking is, without a doubt, the Bible.
When I first started my entrepreneurial journey way back when, I wasn’t as grounded in my faith as I am now (whish is understandable as its all about growth) but the more I have grown in my faith (and mind you I am still growing), I have found that the wisdom I am gaining through in scripture, has deeply influenced how I approach business, decision-making, and people management.
One book that particularly stands out is the Book of Proverbs!!!!!! This Book is dripping (is that the in word now :) ) with timeless principles on wisdom, diligence, integrity, and stewardship.
For example, Proverbs 16:3, ‘Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans,’ has been a foundational verse for me. It reminds me to align my work with God’s purpose, trusting Him with both the process and the outcome.
Ultimately, my entrepreneurial philosophy is grounded in the belief that success isn’t just about profit or growth, it’s about stewardship, integrity, and serving others well, all of which are deeply rooted in biblical truth.
