We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danelle Kessler. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danelle below.
Danelle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
The best advice I ever gave a client was to trust the process, take healing one step at a time, and not forget to care for herself in the journey.
I worked with a mother whose child had severe eczema, allergies, and gut health issues. She had tried everything, elimination diets, topical steroids, endless doctor visits—but nothing provided lasting relief. She was exhausted, anxious, and overwhelmed, pouring all of her energy into her child’s healing while completely neglecting herself.
When we started working together, I reminded her that healing isn’t instant; it’s a journey. I helped her focus on small, consistent changes rather than drastic overhauls. We prioritized gut healing, reduced inflammatory foods, and introduced a nervous system support routine not just for her child but for her as well. I encouraged her to care for herself, whether that meant taking five deep breaths before a meal, getting more sleep, or simply giving herself permission to rest.
Over time she saw real progress, not just in her child’s health but in her own. She felt less overwhelmed, more present, and more capable of handling challenges. Her child’s flare-ups became less severe, digestion improved, and sleep was more restful. But the biggest shift was in her mindset. She realized that she couldn’t pour from an empty cup and that by taking care of herself, she was actually showing up better for her child.
Healing is never just about food or supplements. It’s about the whole person, the whole family. When a mom feels supported and cared for, she can be the steady, loving presence her child needs to thrive.

Danelle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Danelle, a family nurse practitioner, a women’s integrative medicine certified practitioner, and the founder of Restore to Thrive. I pursued functional medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine and Women’s Integrative Medicine Institute, and my passion is helping families, especially moms, uncover the root causes of their children’s health challenges so they can finally see true healing. I work with parents whose kids struggle with eczema, allergies, food sensitivities, ADHD, and recurrent illnesses. Many of them feel overwhelmed, lost, and frustrated after being told their child will just grow out of it or that medication is the only option. I help them take a different approach, one that looks at the whole body, the gut, and the environment to create lasting change.
My journey into this work was deeply personal. When my son was three, he developed a chronic cough, recurrent ear infections, allergies, and asthma. He was put on multiple rounds of antibiotics and steroids, yet he wasn’t getting better. We saw specialist after specialist, and their only solution was more medication. But I knew there had to be a deeper reason for his symptoms, so I started digging. I immersed myself in research on gut health, immune function, and holistic healing. That’s when I discovered functional medicine and finally started to uncover the root causes of his illness. By addressing his gut health, reducing inflammation, and supporting his body naturally, I was able to help him heal. Through that experience, I found my true calling—helping other families navigate their children’s health struggles with a deeper, more effective approach.
In Restore to Thrive, I provide personalized protocols based on functional medicine testing. I guide parents in understanding their child’s unique needs and create customized nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle plans to support healing. I also offer community support through my private Restore to Thrive membership, where moms can connect, learn, and feel empowered on this journey. In addition, I host group meetings, webinars, and trainings on topics like holistic healing, non-toxic living, and gut health.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge the gap between traditional and functional medicine while also supporting the emotional side of healing. I know firsthand that when a child is struggling, the entire family is affected. That’s why I emphasize nervous system regulation, stress management, and self-care for moms because they are the foundation of their child’s healing.
I’m also passionate about supporting women’s health, especially mothers who often put their own well-being last while focusing on their children. Through my integrative medicine training, I help women balance their hormones, improve their gut health, and regain their energy so they can show up fully for themselves and their families.
What I’m most proud of is seeing the transformation in the families I work with. I’ve watched kids go from constant flare-ups, digestive distress, and sleepless nights to thriving with clear skin, improved focus, better digestion, and stronger immune systems. But more than that, I’ve seen moms go from fear and frustration to confidence and peace, knowing they are giving their child the best possible foundation for lifelong health.
At the core of my work is the belief that healing is possible and that parents deserve to feel empowered, not helpless, when it comes to their child’s health. I want every mom to know that she doesn’t have to navigate this alone, that small steps lead to big changes, and that her efforts truly matter.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building my reputation has been all about providing real results, connecting with families on a personal level, and being consistent in offering valuable education. When families see significant improvements in their children’s health and feel genuinely supported, they become my best advocates. I also focus on creating a space where parents feel heard and understood, which helps build trust and loyalty. Additionally, my background as a nurse practitioner combined with my functional medicine training gives me credibility in both traditional and holistic approaches, allowing me to offer well-rounded, effective solutions that set me apart in the market.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been word-of-mouth referrals, building a strong online presence, and creating a supportive community. When families see real, lasting improvements in their children’s health, they naturally share their experiences with others. I also focus on educating and connecting with my audience through social media, webinars, and free resources, which builds trust and credibility. Creating a space for moms to connect and learn together has also been key, as it fosters community and encourages referrals. Ultimately, authenticity, trust, and results have been the foundation of my growth.
