Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Keung. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jessica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
One of the biggest ways BRIM SOCIAL differs from the industry standard is our approach to social media management—blending strategy, content creation, and flexibility to create a truly custom experience for each client. Many agencies rely on templated strategies and generic content, expecting businesses to fit into a one-size-fits-all model.
However, every brand has a unique voice, audience, and specific digital marketing challenges, so we believe it’s crucial to tailor our strategies to fit each client’s needs rather than forcing them into a rigid system. For example, we work with a large hospitality company where we act as an extension of their internal marketing team. Instead of handling their social media entirely, we support them by elevating their existing efforts—providing high-quality video editing, repurposing content, and optimizing visuals for engagement. This collaborative approach allows them to maintain creative control while benefiting from our expertise in content refinement and storytelling.
On the other hand, for a fast-growing eCommerce startup, we take a fully done-for-you approach—managing everything from content creation to full-service social media management. This includes developing the brand’s visual identity, producing original photo and video content, writing captions, engaging with their audience, and strategizing campaigns that drive sales. Since they don’t have an in-house team, we act as their dedicated social media partner, handling everything so they can focus on scaling their business.
Our focus is on organic content that converts—not just chasing trends for quick wins. We work closely with our clients to ensure their content is both brand-aligned and optimized for their target audience while fostering real community growth. While going viral can be exciting, it’s not a sustainable strategy—and it often leads to content that lacks originality or connection. For small to medium-sized businesses, it’s far more valuable to build a strong, engaged audience than to chase fleeting trends.
At the core of everything we do is this: social media should feel personal, not forced. By breaking away from the industry’s templated approach, we help brands build real, lasting connections with their audiences—and that’s what leads to sustainable, long-term growth.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Jessica, the founder of BRIM SOCIAL, where we help small to medium-sized businesses navigate the digital landscape through strategic social media management and engaging content creation. From a young age, I was always coming up with new business ideas, like selling duct tape creations or hosting workshops for my neighbors. After graduating early from UCLA, I worked in tech sales, where I gained insight into the challenges businesses face in connecting with their audiences online. That’s when I decided to start BRIM SOCIAL—to help brands stand out with strategies that build real connections and save time.
At BRIM SOCIAL, our goal is to grow with our clients. We understand that investing in social media management is a long-term commitment, and we’re here to be your dedicated partner every step of the way. We collaborate closely with each client to craft custom content and tailored strategies that align with their goals and drive sustainable growth. Whether you’re a local business seeking creative direction or a fast-growing startup in need of full-service management, we’re committed to being a true partner in your journey.
What sets BRIM SOCIAL apart is our commitment to deep partnerships. We don’t just provide services, we take the time to understand the core of your brand, your goals, and your challenges. Our approach is rooted in authenticity and connection, building a social presence that resonates and lasts. Whether it’s growing their community, boosting sales, or simply ensuring their digital presence is in good hands, seeing the real impact we have on our clients’ growth is what keeps us motivated, and we’re proud of the results we achieve.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2023, I faced a life-threatening health emergency that changed everything. After multiple hospital visits and a surgery, I lost my ability to speak for six months. At the time, I was working in tech sales, but without the ability to communicate, I couldn’t continue in that role. This forced me to pause everything and reflect deeply on what I wanted in my career and in my life.
During this difficult period, I found ways to occupy my time. I began creating content for Airbnbs and hotels, which reignited my passion for digital marketing. I also started managing social media for a small local business, where I quickly realized this was where my heart truly was. I discovered a deep passion for social media management and saw firsthand how authentic engagement and tailored strategies could help businesses grow.
This experience became a turning point for me. Despite the personal challenges, I embraced the opportunity to pivot my career entirely. I founded BRIM SOCIAL with the goal of helping small businesses navigate the digital landscape, and it’s been a transformative journey. The health setback pushed me to reflect on my true passions, and from that, I built something I’m incredibly proud of.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I focus on consistent communication and being proactive, so I’m always ahead of my clients’ needs. My communication style is personalized to each client, based on what we agree on during onboarding—whether that’s through email updates, quick text messages, or phone calls. I make sure to share regular performance updates, highlight new trends, and offer suggestions for optimization. Quarterly reviews also help keep us aligned and ensure we’re on track with their goals.
I also believe in building personal connections, so I make time for coffee meetups to chat casually about themselves, their brand, and any challenges they might be facing. This mix of professional and personal touchpoints helps create long-term, loyal partnerships where clients feel genuinely valued.
