Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melanie Zorrilla. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Melanie, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
When I got my first job in aesthetics, it felt like stepping into a world that had always intrigued me but seemed just out of reach. I started my nursing career in the ER—fast-paced, high-stakes, and intense. While I loved the adrenaline and the ability to help people in critical moments, I also felt a pull toward something different. I wanted to combine my medical expertise with my love for beauty and artistry, but at the time, aesthetic nursing felt like a closed-off industry, one where you had to “know someone” to get in.
I remember scrolling through job postings, networking, and researching as much as I could about how to break into aesthetics. I took trainings on my own, spent time studying facial anatomy beyond what nursing school had taught me, and immersed myself in the aesthetics world. My first opportunity came when I found a med spa that was willing to take a chance on me. The recruiting process wasn’t traditional—there wasn’t a clear-cut job listing for “entry-level aesthetic nurse.” Instead, I had to advocate for myself, express my passion, and show that even though I was new to aesthetics, I was ready to learn and grow.
At the time, my goal was simple: to get my foot in the door and start building a name for myself in aesthetics. I wanted to be the kind of provider that patients trusted, especially women of color, because I knew firsthand how hard it could be to find someone who understood your skin, your concerns, and your beauty goals.
That first experience gave me a foundation, but my journey truly evolved when I was offered a mentorship and apprenticeship at La-Mon’e Aesthetics Med Spa. This opportunity has allowed me to learn everything I dreamed of—and more. I’m gaining hands-on experience in advanced aesthetic treatments, some of which I never thought I’d have the chance to see so early in my career. The level of mentorship and exposure I’ve received here is invaluable, and I’m incredibly grateful for where I am now. Every day, I’m expanding my skills, growing my confidence, and becoming the injector I always aspired to be.
Looking back, the journey wasn’t always easy—learning a new specialty, proving myself, and dealing with the uncertainty of growing my clientele—but it was worth it. I wouldn’t change a thing because each step led me to where I am today, and I know this is only the beginning.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a registered nurse and aesthetic provider specializing in non-surgical treatments that help my clients look and feel their best. My journey into aesthetics started in the ER, where I developed strong clinical skills, but I knew I wanted more—I wanted to combine my love for medicine with artistry. Breaking into this field wasn’t easy, but I sought out training, studied facial anatomy, and worked my way into the industry. Now, I provide aesthetic treatments at La-Mon’e Aesthetics Med Spa, helping clients achieve natural, beautiful results tailored to their unique features.
What I Do & Who I Help
I offer a range of services, including:
• Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, etc.) to smooth fine lines while maintaining natural expressions.
• Microneedling & PRP/PRF to improve skin texture, stimulate collagen, and restore a youthful glow.
• Corrective Skincare Treatments for concerns like hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and overall skin health.
Why Clients Choose Me
Aesthetics can feel overwhelming, and many people don’t know where to start. I take the time to educate my clients, create personalized treatment plans, and focus on natural, refined results—never overdone. My approach blends medical expertise with an artistic eye, ensuring that every treatment enhances, rather than alters, your beauty.
What I Want You to Know
I’m passionate about helping people feel confident in their skin. Whether you’re new to aesthetic treatments or looking for a provider who listens and delivers results, I’m here to guide you through the process with honesty and care. Aesthetics isn’t about changing who you are—it’s about bringing out the best version of yourself, and I am happy to be part of that process.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation has been built on trust, education, and natural results. Clients appreciate that I take the time to listen, educate, and create personalized treatments that enhance their features rather than change them. Consistency in my work, from client experiences to social media, has also played a huge role. People know they can expect expertise, attention to detail, and a provider who genuinely cares. Continuous learning keeps me ahead in the industry. I stay up to date with the latest techniques to ensure my clients receive the best, safest, and most effective treatments. That commitment to excellence is what sets me apart.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes, I’d choose this path again—if anything, I’d start sooner. Aesthetics blends medicine and artistry, allowing me to enhance confidence while using my clinical skills. The journey wasn’t easy, but it’s rewarding, and I love combining science, creativity, and patient care every day.
