Alright, Abuv thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

I gained this understanding when I noticed I had an ease with verbal expressions. I always loved vernacular since a kid and understanding how that can move people and uplift people made music to me feel purposeful.

Abuv, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Abuv Ave, (above ave) I’m from Illinois the Chicagoland area. I really didn’t start going full throttle on music until I left college. I was met with a multitude of opportunities before I started my journey as an artist, however my last opportunity being in a group called ICY B Gang really showed me that people love my voice and wordplay. I did my first live show with them and the crowd sound my lyrics word for word. It was invigorating. I was elated but in disbelief at the same time. That moment solidified my love for the music and this industry. I think my voice is a major factor that sets me apart from others. Although I believe I’m a complete artist that can do pretty much any genre. As well as being a great writer and producer. My voice seems to always stand out when people speak of me. I’m most proud of me never giving up on myself. This music industry is a world-wind of pitfalls and roller coasters. Through it all though I still keep pushing and prevailing

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

Just be supportive. Support others in their craft and in most cases they will support you back. Paying if forward is a real thing. You always think about people who think about and care for you.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

Too many to name. I wish I knew more about the music game before I started as well as had the technology we have today! I think my career would have grown much faster. However understanding the difference between a manager a booking agent and what PR means for your career as an artist are some major points.
