We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jasmine Ruby Rose a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jasmine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a customer success story with us?
One of my favorite customer success stories isn’t just one story—it’s a theme that keeps coming up, and it brings me so much joy! Time and time again, customers come back to tell me that the jewelry or clothing I made for them has become their **absolute favorite thing**. They wear it *all the time*—whether it’s a sterling silver ring with a turquoise stone or a vibrant tie-dye piece that turns heads everywhere they go.
For me, that’s the ultimate win. I pour so much love and creativity into every piece here at **The Ruby Rose Ranch**. Hearing that something I made has become a staple in someone’s life. That’s what I strive for! It’s not just about creating beautiful things—it’s about crafting pieces that people *connect* with, make them feel confident, inspired, and uniquely themselves.
I truly believe that’s my legacy: creating wearable art that becomes a part of someone’s story. Whether it’s a hand-dyed shirt that sparks joy every time they put it on or a one-of-a-kind ring that feels like it was made just for them, I want my work to be a little reminder of magic in their everyday lives. ✨

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi there! I’m Jasmine Ruby Rose, the heart and hands behind The Ruby Rose Ranch, a small artisan business based in Southern California. My creative journey began when I was just a child—I’ve been making jewelry since I could hold tools. On career day in the 3rd grade, I proudly declared I was going to be a jewelry designer! Fast forward to today, and I’m living that dream every single day.
This isn’t just a job for me—it’s my calling. I truly believe this craft comes from my soul, guided by my ancestors and the universe itself. When I’m working, I feel like I’m channeling not only their wisdom but also the energy of the person who will eventually wear the piece. It’s like the universe is conspiring with me to create something meaningful and beautiful for someone out there. ✨
At The Ruby Rose Ranch, I specialize in **handcrafted sterling silver jewelry** and **one-of-a-kind tie-dye clothing**. Each piece is made with intention and care, from the meticulous lapidary work on genuine stones, to the vibrant hand-dyed patterns on our apparel. I also love doing **custom work**, creating pieces that feel deeply personal and unique to the wearer. All while maintaining 100% Customer satisfaction.
What sets me apart is my commitment to **quality, authenticity, and connection**. Every piece is handmade in-house, ensuring a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that you won’t find in mass-produced items. I also strive to solve a problem that’s close to my heart: helping people find pieces that truly resonate with them. In a world of fast fashion and generic designs, I want my customers to feel seen, celebrated, and inspired by what they wear.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my customers. Nothing makes me happier than hearing that a ring I made has become someone’s daily go-to or that a tie-dye dress I created brings them joy every time they wear it. That’s the legacy I want to leave—creating pieces that become a part of someone’s story and remind them of their own magic.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that The Ruby Rose Ranch is more than just a brand—it’s a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and connection. Whether you’re drawn to the uniqueness of our jewelry or the vibrant energy of our tie-dye styles, I hope my work inspires you to embrace your own style and live authentically.
One thing I’m working on personally is finding a better balance between work and rest. I love what I do so much that I could create all day, every day—but my body has reminded me that even passion needs boundaries. An artists life is a journey, but one I’m committed to, because I want to keep doing this for a long, long time.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Books have been such a huge source of inspiration and guidance for me, especially as a creative entrepreneur. One of the most impactful reads for me has been “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert. I actually listened to this on Audible while working in my studio, it completely shifted how I think about creativity and fear. Gilbert talks about ideas as living entities that choose us, and how it’s our job to show up to collaborate with them. That really resonates with me because I often feel like my work is guided by something bigger than myself—whether it’s my ancestors, the universe, or the energy of the person who will eventually wear the piece. “Big Magic” reminded me to embrace curiosity over fear and to trust the creative process, even when it feels messy or uncertain.
Another book that’s been a game-changer is “Make Your Art No Matter What” by Beth Pickens. I also listened to this one while creating, for me it’s like a pep talk and a reality check all in one. Pickens talks about the practical and emotional hurdles of being an artist, and her no-nonsense advice has helped me stay grounded and focused. One of the biggest takeaways for me was the idea that making art is a radical act of self-care and resistance. It’s not always easy to prioritize creativity in a world with so many responsibilities, but this book reminded me why it’s so important to keep going, no matter what.
Lastly, “The Work of Art” by Heidi Luerra has been an incredible resource for navigating the business side of being a creative. It’s like a field guide for artists who want to turn their passion into a sustainable career. Luerra breaks down everything from branding to pricing to marketing in a way that’s accessible and empowering. This book helped me see that I don’t have to choose between being an artist and being an entrepreneur—I can be both, and my business can be as unique and creative as my work.
These books have shaped my philosophy as a creative entrepreneur in so many ways. They’ve taught me to trust my intuition, embrace the messiness of the creative process, and build a business that aligns with my values. If you’re a creative looking for inspiration or guidance, I can’t recommend these books enough—and if you’re like me, listening to them on Audible while you work is a great way to soak up all that wisdom!

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source for new customers has been getting out there and meeting people face-to-face at craft fairs, makers markets, and music events. There’s something so special about connecting with people in person—they get to see the craftsmanship up close, feel the textures, and hear the stories behind each piece. Plus, these events attract my kind of people: folks who appreciate handmade, unique, and meaningful art. It’s been such a joy to watch someone’s eyes light up when they try on a ring or hold up a tie-dye shirt and say, “This is so me.”
That said, I also use **social media** to stay in touch with my community and share my work with a wider audience. It’s been a great way to showcase new pieces, give behind-the-scenes glimpses of my process, and let people know where I’ll be vending next. But I’ll be honest—I know I could be doing more with social media. I’m working on getting more comfortable being on camera and showing up consistently. It’s a process, but I’m excited to push past the shyness because I know it’s such a powerful way to connect with people and grow my business.
For me, it’s all about balance: the magic of in-person events and the reach of social media. Both are essential, and I’m committed to growing in both areas to bring my art to even more people who will love it as much as I do.
