Olha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember—it was always my favourite thing to do. But the moment I truly knew I wanted to pursue an artistic path professionally happened when I was 13. I became obsessed with the idea of learning how to draw portraits. Something about capturing a person’s essence on paper fascinated me, and I knew I had to master it.
Every day, I practiced. I sketched faces, studied shadows, and refined every detail until drawing portraits became second nature. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore—it felt like a calling. That discipline and passion stayed with me as I grew, and when I eventually transitioned into tattooing, it only made sense that portraits became a signature part of my style. The love I had for drawing them as a kid is the same love that drives me now when I bring them to life on skin.
That moment at 13, when I committed to drawing portraits every day, was the turning point. It showed me that art wasn’t just something I enjoyed—it was something I was willing to dedicate myself to completely. And that realisation led me to where I am today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a professional tattoo artist specializing in graphic black and grey realism and stylized portrait tattoos. Art has been a part of my life since I was a child—it’s always been my way of expressing stories, emotions, and creativity. I initially pursued a career in architecture, but I quickly realized that it didn’t fulfill me the way art did. Taking a leap of faith, I transitioned into tattooing, and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
My focus is on creating visually striking, well-balanced, and long-lasting tattoos. I love working with contrast, depth, and fine details to bring designs to life in a way that feels unique and personal to each client. Whether it’s a portrait, a conceptual piece, or something highly stylized, I make sure every tattoo is crafted with intention and precision.
What sets me apart is my deep understanding of composition and realism, combined with a commitment to designing tattoos that will age beautifully. I take pride in my ability to listen to my clients, understand their vision, and transform it into a piece of art that truly resonates with them.
I’m most proud of the journey that brought me here—choosing to follow my passion and build a career that allows me to create meaningful art every day. For anyone considering getting a tattoo from me, I want them to know that they’re not just getting ink on their skin—they’re getting a one-of-a-kind piece of art, designed with care, expertise, and a deep respect for the craft.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Many people assume that being a creative means just floating through life, making art without a care. But in reality, creative work is incredibly demanding. Beyond the artistic process itself, we have to manage finances, handle client communication, buy supplies, market ourselves, and constantly create content for social media—because nowadays, that’s the key to finding clients.
The sheer amount of responsibilities can be overwhelming, and many artists struggle with burnout and even depression. I’ve experienced it myself multiple times. Creativity demands a lot of energy, and when life gets difficult, it can be hard to give your best to your work. That’s why resilience is one of the most important traits for any artist. It’s not just about talent—it’s about pushing through challenges, adapting, and finding ways to keep creating even when things get tough.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is seeing my work come to life on someone’s skin and knowing it holds deep meaning for them. Tattooing isn’t just about creating art—it’s about creating something permanent, something that becomes a part of a person’s story. The moment a client looks in the mirror and their face lights up because their vision has been transformed into reality—that’s what makes it all worth it.
Beyond that, the creative process itself is incredibly fulfilling. Taking an idea, shaping it, refining it, and finally seeing it take form is a feeling that never gets old. Art is my way of expressing emotions, connecting with people, and leaving a lasting impact. Knowing that my work will be carried with someone for life is both an honor and a responsibility, and that’s what drives me every day.
