Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ricardo Sanchez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ricardo, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

The biggest risk I have ever taken was when I decided to move to Atlanta in 2023 to further pursue my career within music. With no job prospects and no certainty as to whether or not this would work, moving to Atlanta ended up turning into one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. I had two friends that I knew from college that had moved here a year prior and they wanted me to be their third roommate. They were also pursuing a career in the music industry and had told me about how driven the scene in Atlanta was. I had saved up about 2/3 months worth of rent and decided to pack my bags and make the drive from New York. While the road was definitely a bumpy one, I am thankful to see where I ended up. Fast forward two years and I now manage one of the biggest studios in Atlanta.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I have been involved in music my whole life. From a young age, I was taking piano lessons and as I got older, I picked up the Trumpet. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play in a multitude of different bands ranging from the NY All-State jazz band to symphonic bands and marching bands alike. However, it wasn’t until I got my first laptop in college that I started to get into music production and engineering. It was then that I discovered what I wanted to do and started taking the necessary steps to get into this industry. I am now in a position that allows me to provide a multitude of services for a variety of different clients. These services include booking studio time, tracking, mixing, song writing, production (pre & post), live instrumentation as a horn player, video production/editing, and collaborative works as an up and coming artist (iNertia) as well. What sets me apart from others is the ability to provide a state of the art space for creatives with quality sound, ingenuity, and a passion for the art. On top of all that, the network I have built over the years has allowed me to connect like minded individuals in all areas of the industry. I am most proud of the progress that I have made throughout the years and I don’t see myself slowing down anytime soon. The main things that I would want the readers to know is that I take pride in my work and simply want to surround myself with like minded individuals. What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is the chills you get when you create a moment that feels special to not only yourself, but the people around you as well. Whether it be in the project itself or in the room with the people around you. These moments speak to your character and define your work. Whether it’s creating a sound that has never been heard before or capturing a moment in a record that is timeless, what matters most is appreciating the journey and having the ability to simply be your most authentic self.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

As a society, I think that it’s important to not fixate on the numbers and focus on the art itself. If you are drawn to a particular artist or song, the best way to support them in my opinion would be to help create a positive community around them. Follow them and share their work with other like minded individuals that you feel may also appreciate their art. Let them know that you enjoy their work or even how it has affected you personally. Personal connections and words of encouragement are what create a thriving ecosystem in this industry.
