Hi Drew, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

I’ve always dreamed of my own country farm with animals, and one day, that dream became a reality. I found a charming farmette with a horse stable—a small facility surrounded by lush green pastures and forest in an amazing location. It was the perfect place, not just for my own horses, but to offer boarding for others as well. That’s where it all started.
As I spent more time on the property, I realized it had so much potential beyond just being a home for horses. The picturesque surroundings, the open fields, and the rustic charm felt like the ideal setting for people to gather. I wanted to create something more—a space where the community could connect with nature and enjoy moments together through celebrations, birthdays, weddings, and agricultural events like farm tours and farmers’ markets.
The journey from idea to execution involved learning, adapting, and growing. I focused on improving the property, understanding the needs of my clients, and turning my vision into a place where people could gather, whether to board their horses or celebrate with loved ones. What started as a personal dream has become a space that brings joy to others.

I’m the owner of Stafford Stables, a place where agriculture, nature, and celebrations come together. My journey into this industry started with my passion for nature, country life, horses and a vision to create a space where people could connect with nature and experience the beauty of rural life. Over time, Stafford Stables has grown into more than just a horse boarding facility—it’s now a destination for agritourism, offering unique experiences that blend agriculture, recreation, and celebration.

Horse boarding is still at the heart of what we do. We provide top-tier care for our boarded horses, including spacious green pastures, daily grain, fresh water, and a safe, nurturing environment. I take pride in creating a space where horse owners feel confident that their animals are well cared for and can enjoy spending time with them.

One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is hosting events, especially kids’ birthday parties. I love seeing children connect with nature and animals in a way that’s both fun and meaningful. It is so important to me that we share our appreciation of rural life and nature with people, especially kids. Our birthday programs are tailored to different age groups and include games, competitions, and activities that bring joy and excitement. Pony rides are a favorite feature—children light up as they ride, often for the first time.

We’ve also expanded to host weddings, creating unforgettable experiences in a beautiful rustic setting. Brides have the opportunity to make a grand entrance on horseback, which adds a stunning and memorable touch to the day—if they’re experienced riders. For those who prefer a more classic approach, arriving or departing in a horse-drawn carriage offers a fairytale-like charm.

What sets Stafford Stables apart is our focus on connecting people to the land and the agricultural roots of the community. Whether through horse boarding, agritourism events, or celebrations, we offer a space where people can reconnect with nature, experience the beauty of rural life, and create lasting memories. We also seek to create balance within the local environment through wildlife management practices and by maintaining, restoring, or creating habit for native wildlife.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I believe our reputation in the market has been built on our commitment to quality over quantity. At Stafford Stables, we prioritize care and attention to detail in everything we do. Whether it’s horse boarding or hosting events, our focus is on creating meaningful, high-quality experiences rather than trying to accommodate as many clients as possible.

For example, when it comes to horse boarding, we take great care to maintain our facility. We don’t over burden pastures to the point where there’s no grass left. By limiting the number of horses we board, planned grazing rotation, and careful pasture management, we ensure that every horse has access to lush, healthy pastures and a peaceful environment. This level of care sets us apart from others who may prioritize volume over healthy pastures.

The same philosophy applies to our events. We don’t aim to be a high-capacity operation; instead, we focus on hosting intimate, high-quality gatherings that leave a lasting impression. Whether it’s a child’s birthday party with pony rides and games or a rustic wedding with a bride arriving on horseback, we put thought and effort into making every moment special.

At Stafford Stables, we focus on delivering exceptional experiences—whether it’s providing top-tier care for boarded horses or hosting a memorable event. When clients see the effort and attention to detail we put into everything we do, they naturally want to share their experiences with friends and family.

Social media has also been a key tool for growth. By sharing photos and stories from events, showcasing the beauty of our property, and highlighting unique offerings like pony rides at birthday parties or incorporating horses in the wedding, we’ve been able to reach a broader audience. People love seeing real moments from our stables, and that authenticity resonates with them.

Another important strategy has been fostering community partnerships and participating in local events. Whether it’s hosting a farm day or collaborating with local businesses, these connections help us introduce Stafford Stables to new audiences and show them what we’re all about.
