We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicole Shrestha. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicole below.
Nicole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Taking a leap of faith was starting my own company at the very beginning of the pandemic. Businesses were laying off employees, closing their doors, and the world was in turmoil. Reiki and energy wellness weren’t even on most people’s radar, let alone something they’d consider trying. Yet, somehow, Reiki started taking off for me.
The space I was working in quickly became too small for my growing schedule—just for my human clients. (I also work with animals!) I knew I needed a place of my own, a space where I could expand and serve even more clients. It was daunting, but the pull to do what I knew I was meant to do was stronger than the fear.
I took the risk because I believed not only in my abilities but also in a collective shift happening in the world. The pandemic had forced people to slow down, reflect, and, most importantly, make time for themselves in a way they hadn’t before. I truly believed that this was the moment the world was ready to heal and change. People were open to transforming their lives, and I was ready to help guide them.

Nicole, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At my Reiki company, I am dedicated to helping both humans and animals overcome the deep wounds of trauma and release the energetic blocks that hold them back. I believe that healing is not just about restoring balance—it’s about empowering individuals and animals to step fully into their power, to live lives filled with peace, abundance, and happiness.
For both people and animals, trauma can manifest in many forms—whether it’s emotional pain, past experiences, or unseen barriers in their energy. Reiki provides a safe space to release these burdens, allowing the body and spirit to heal naturally. As we clear these blocks, we open the door to greater vitality, joy, and connection, bringing harmony back into every area of life.
Whether it’s a person reclaiming their sense of purpose or an animal finding peace after a difficult experience, my mission is to help them move past what no longer serves them. This allows them to fully embrace life, to live with vitality and joy, and to experience the world with newfound clarity and balance. Reiki isn’t just a practice; it’s a transformative journey toward living the fullest, most vibrant life possible.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My recent cancer journey has been one of the greatest trials of my life—a test that pushed me beyond my limits and taught me more than I could have imagined. It was a time when I had to truly walk my own talk, taking the same advice I’ve shared with my clients daily and applying it to my own life. I’ve always believed in the power of energy healing, but this experience has reinforced my conviction that healing is a deeply personal and transformative journey.
I was diagnosed on January 2nd, and since then, I’ve undergone 9 surgeries and am now working on completing 30 rounds of radiation. Every step of this journey has required me to tap into the strength, resilience, and energy that Reiki has taught me to cultivate. I now understand even more deeply the importance of meeting people—and animals exactly where they are, honoring their unique journeys, and offering the same care and intention I have always poured into my work.
In my business, I’ve always embraced the philosophy that each situation is unique and requires a personalized approach. Whether it’s a person working through emotional trauma or an animal healing from a past experience, I’ve learned that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. Just like in my own journey, some days are harder than others, and the path may look different for everyone—but the care, attention, and dedication remain the same. I’m more committed than ever to applying this deeper understanding to my Reiki practice, meeting each individual where they are with empathy, patience, and an unwavering belief in their ability to heal and thrive.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think the important thing to keep in mind and one thing that as I look back I often think as left out of curriculum is protecting oneself and the boundaries of oneself another thing is vital self-care. The saying is so true you cannot pour from an empty cup however when we find something that we love to do we don’t think that applies and there could not be nothing further than the truth you can absolutely love every ounce of what you do and still need balance of other avenues of your life . As I work on my curriculum for my upcoming classes for all levels of Reiki it is something that I am really intending to put such a big emphasis on because I find it so important that we take the time to teach people how to keep themselves safe especially with the energy of the world today. People are hurting the world is hurting and we have to be able to shield ourselves on a daily basis to keep ourselves on our highest frequency so we can operate at our upmost ability.
