We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brad Byerson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brad, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
I’ve always been around a camera. My mom was the manager of an old photography store called Glamour Shots. Being that my dad was in the Army, me and my brothers had to go to work with mom sometimes. Being in the studio with and having, at the time what I thought were costumes, wardrobes and props was fascinating. Fast forward to me becoming a father, my son started playing sports so naturally there was a thought to capture every moment. As I started posting content, there was a great response to almost everything I was sharing with social media. When COVID started, I decided to make this hobby a business and here I am today.

Brad, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
When I retired from professional basketball, I became a coach and trainer but that wasn’t truly happy. I started creating content for my son as he started playing and then it clicked. I should become a content creator. As I mentioned before, I created my business when COVID took the world by storm. I operate as a social media company helping clients with content calendars, creating content for their social platforms, as well as providing photography and videography services. The majority of my clientele is in the Richmond, Virginia area, I do occasionally travel to clients outside of Virginia.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
As an Army brat there’s a lot of traveling with that lifestyle. Meeting new people, seeing different people, experiencing new places and cultures. Some aren’t too fond of it but I love everything about traveling and I always wanted to do something where I was traveling and constantly meeting new people. Basketball scratched that itch for me in prior years. Now being a creative is fulfilling that desire. My goal is to be able to transition to a full-time creative and travel the world helping people solve their business needs.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
NFT’s are the future! I’m still doing my research on them but I do know that eventually NFT’s will be some how incorporated with our way of life.
