Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charity Craig. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Charity, appreciate you joining us today. Is there a historical figure you look up to? Who are they and what lessons or values have you learned from them?
People have used Walt Disney as a model dreamer to shout, Dream bigger! Achieve big goals! These messages of building castles in the sky leave us wishing we were living someone else’s life somewhere else. If only I could live that magical life, I’d be happy and have a purpose. Except, Walt Disney didn’t set out to be, well, Walt Disney. His dream wasn’t to create a cartoon mouse that would catapult him into stardom. He had one simple goal for his life — to be an artist.
With a simple dream in his heart, Walt Disney moved forward with childlike curiosity and got so many things wrong. He came up against obstacle after obstacle and failed repeatedly. But instead of holding on to his past failures, he dropped them on the cutting floor and moved on to his next idea with rapid speed.
Walt Disney teaches us the magic you can accomplish with a small dream and unwavering tenacity to make that dream come true.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
In 2015, I had the idea to start a business selling whimsy-inspired quote bracelets, but I wanted to offer something more than just cute sayings. I had gone through a radical personal transformation in my own life, and I had a necklace that I wore every day that reminded me of what I had overcome. I wanted to offer pieces with meaning, so each quote bracelet came with an inspirational card to tell a deeper meaning to connect to the person wearing the bracelet. We packaged it up in Tiffany & Co. quality packaging to make opening our products even more magical.
Over the years, we’ve received many messages from our customers telling us how our jewelry has helped them get through tough times in their lives. They’ve gifted our pieces to friends and family who are struggling with illnesses or loss. Customers have celebrated milestones like birthdays, graduations, and new babies.
Our customers are the real heroes of their stories. We’re just the accessories.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I knew nothing about e-commerce, retail, or managing employees when I started my business. I was figuring it out as I went. As you can imagine, I’ve made many mistakes, from big things like hiring the wrong people to small things like forgetting to proofread a mass email. But once you’re in, giving up isn’t an option, so the only thing you can do is dig your heels in and figure it out.
I continue to look to Walt Disney and his resilience in building his empire to help me get through the tough times in business. “What Would Walt Do?” is my business motto.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My top two priorities in my business are (1) selling quality products and (2) making their experience magical. I always put myself in my customer’s shoes because they’re the boss. If our customers aren’t happy with their interaction with us, they’ll fire Lillian & Co. and find somewhere else to spend their hard-earned money. I am forever grateful for anyone who believes we’re worthy of their time and money, so we’ll go above and beyond to ensure they’re happy with their decision.
