Nakiyah, appreciate you joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?

At this point myself and my daughter manages my social media. However social media is a huge part of growing and branding the business and since our business is in the early stages of growing we will continue to manage it until we expand more.Hopefully that will be sooner then later since it it very time consuming

Nakiyah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m what you call a serial entrepreneur. I have multiple businesses based in NYC . 2 daycares and a real estate business with my husband . My family and i moved to Houston in July of 2023 . I’ve always enjoyed cooking and entertaining people throughout my life . I’ve been cooking and playing around in the kitchen since about 6 years old . In my early 30s is where I really engaged and focused on cooking food from different cultures . During Covid, when everything was shut down in nyc my family and I binged watched a few food truck cooking shows . That’s initially where the idea came up . I said I think i should open a food truck when we move to Texas .We played around With food truck names , but I knew it was not the time to really focus on it . Once I moved , and felt it was the right time I started doing my research and began the process . So in 2024 Tasteful Flavorzs LLC was birthed.. We then opened our food truck restaurant business.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

Initially to start my new food truck business I took out a business loan with a major bank . Having good credit has helped me tremendously with funding the business before and after opening. I’m able to scale due to good credit history , which plays a major role with the everyday life of being a food truck owner .

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

I met my business partner , which is my husband in High school At that time we was not dating , I just saw him in passings . Fast forward to about 15 years later after high school we started dating , then married and began to create businesses together.
