We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sandra Iroegbu a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sandra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I was trying to write my waec and jamb here in Nigeria, I did a play for our coach and people commended my performance. After the show, my close friends said “Sandra you will make a good actress, have you thought about it?” At that moment I had filled my jamb to study law, so I changed my course to theatre and when I got admission, I knew it was God that wanted me to use my talent and shine in the world. During my undergraduate days at the university, I was one of the best actresses so I concluded that this was what I wanted to pursue, acting.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the industry during my undergraduate days, I would leave school at Enugu to Lagos to shoot and jump right back into school mood when I come back to campus. I have always known my talent is unique because I was seen even with the little roles I got right from my first year in the theatre. I see myself as a Powerhouse because I am great at not just acting but filmmaking. I have always had this gift of management so producing came to me with ease. I think being a multi-talented person set me apart from others. I can do a lot of things but I try my best often times to shrink or reduce being seen in everything and focus on my acting brand majorly because I do not want to be lost in the process of doing a lot and I do not want people to forget my major goal. I can sing, create amazing content, produce, influence, style, manage, just a few to mention, (laughing). I proud of my growth in the industry and Howfar I have come. One thing I want people to know about me is my consistency and resilience energy of never stopping and always putting out my best. I believe stars do not struggle to shine.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I think I just started! Just create and Dont stop. People are watching and someday they would align with your content, niche or your person! Don’t Stop doing you. Keep putting yourself out there and revolve with the new technology it trends so you won’t be forgotten in the old. I really didn’t do much because I am still not where I vision to be yet but I am getting there soon.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I think my late sister drive to become somebody great has always been my goal to ensure I make her dreams come to reality. She believed so much in me. My friends as well, goshhh their consistent reassurance and encouragement has inspired me to keep going. I also think struggles of life and knowing fully where I come from has always been my drive to be a great person. Also my future goals is one of the reasons that drives my creative journey. When I think and dream of what and who I want to be, I pick myself up and continue pushing.
