Yes, I have been able to earn a full-time living as a real estate photographer, but it wasn’t like that from day one. My journey started in portrait photography, but I eventually expanded into real estate photography to provide high-quality listing content that helps agents market homes effectively.
Building a full-time business took time and strategy. I invested in specialized training, refined my editing and shooting techniques, and focused on creating a seamless client experience. Over time, I expanded my services to include not just listing photos but also video walkthroughs, drone photography, and branding content for agents to elevate their marketing.
Some major milestones included:

I’m a real estate photographer based in North Georgia, but I travel all over the U.S. Specializing in high-quality architectural/interior design/real estate photos, video walkthroughs, drone photography, and branding content for real estate agents. My goal is to help agents showcase properties in the best possible light, attract more buyers, and ultimately sell homes faster and at higher prices.
How I Got Started
My journey into photography started with portrait photography, but before that I was a nursing major in college. Over time, I realized my passion for creating visuals that tell a story. As someone who values both creativity and strategy, I was drawn to real estate photography because it allows me to combine technical skill with marketing expertise. We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I honestly love to experiment with social media. I don’t take it too seriously. I built my audience on social media by consistently sharing high-quality home photography, engaging with my audience, and providing valuable content that showcases my work. But I also share my everyday life. I believe people don’t want to book someone who is just a business, they want to book the human behind the business. The only way for them to do that is to feel connected to that person. I focused on posting professional listing photos, behind-the-scenes content, and tips for real estate agents to help them market their properties effectively, but I also posted pictures of my son, funny stories about my daily life, and anything I thought people might enjoy.
For those just starting, my advice is
• Be consistent – Post regularly to stay visible.
• Engage with your audience – Respond to comments and interact with potential clients.
• Provide value – Share helpful tips, behind-the-scenes insights, or success stories.
• Use hashtags and location tags – This helps reach the right audience.
• Show your personality – People connect with people, so let your brand shine.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being an artist, especially as a real estate photographer, is knowing that my work makes a real impact. Seeing how high-quality images can transform a listing, help a home sell faster, and elevate an agent’s brand is incredibly fulfilling. I love being able to take an ordinary space and showcase it in its best light, creating visuals that not only attract buyers but also give my clients confidence in their marketing.
Beyond the technical side, I find joy in the relationships I build with real estate agents. Helping them grow their businesses, stand out in a competitive market, and achieve success through my photography makes every shoot meaningful. The ability to blend creativity with strategy and see the direct results of my work is what makes this career so rewarding.
