We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joshua Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joshua below.
Joshua, appreciate you joining us today. One of the toughest things about progressing in your creative career is that there are almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
Elite has been my biggest accomplishment so far. We’ve only been a band for a couple of years, but much has happened with unreliable members and all the fantastic opportunities we lost because of them, and even the band is getting scammed. I’ll talk about how I overcame all of this and how it affected and changed me not only as a recording artist but a person and all of the obstacles I faced along the way.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Josh, and I’m the founder and lead vocalist of the Elite. I started Elite in 2022 because music has been my passion since I was little.
I make music using my struggles and experiences to speak to others and hopefully help them somehow!
I’m most proud of the community we’ve built around our band so far and how far we’ve come, even through all of the struggles we faced along the way and still being a band.
I use my own experiences with stuff to spread the word to current followers and new followers that they are not alone, and we make the music we make to help people let out their anger and aggression by creating complex and aggressive music for people to let it all out to and not resort to violence.
Elite is a band that I made for a purpose: to help people who are going through something and let them know that they’re not alone.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I believe more people should support their local music community, not even metal like our genre, but other genres. I think people should go to more local shows, even if it’s just for a band or two, to show their support, and even buying Mercy is such a big part of a local band’s funds and helps them get more shows and merch. So many small bands have so much talent and potential but are getting held back because the local music scene in many places, especially New Mexico, isn’t the same. Unless you know the local scene, turnouts are always the best, so if more people could start going to local shows and local festivals, buy merch, and share these bands with other people, we can get all these potential platinum record artists out there!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
we are With Elite; my mission is to help people let out their anger and aggression through music instead of violence and let them know they’re not alone with our lyrics using our past experiences and struggles.
Elite was made to build a solid fan base to help people going through a lot overcome their struggles and find friends in a community of kind and caring people!
