Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Doneshia Green . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Doneshia , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I initially took an eyebrow tint course back in 2019. Shortly after, I began practicing the brow technique. on family members and friends. Once I felt confident enough I created social media outlets as a tool to promote my work. My following started to grow and I knew it was time to make my business official, so a friend of mine helped me register as an LLC. The following year was one of tremendous growth. I started out servicing clients from home for a while. As my clientele grew, I started looking for a professional space. Around the same time I enrolled in beauty school where I later received a skin care specialist license. One of the most important things I learned was to create a business plan. Once you have a plan you obtain clearer vision and structure as it relates to your business. Overtime I realized I was achieving goals one step at a time. I am very proud of how much I’ve grown as an entrepreneur in 3 years, however I’ll never stop learning and perfecting my craft.
Doneshia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Quite honestly, when I first started I wasn’t content with my work. I realized I had to keep working on my craft day in and day out to get obtain the outcome I desired. I even invested in more classes to help me learn the skill and industry in which I’m in. My first 2 years as an entrepreneur I also worked a full time job, this was not easy but I managed to build a reputable brand despite the challenges.
I am most proud of the fact that I never gave up. The Journey has not been a smooth sail, but when you’re passionate about something you find ways to keep pressing through the trying moments.
I am a hard worker and my main goal is to ensure that all clients are met with professionalism, respect, and top of the line service.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
For the first 2 years of entrepreneurship I simultaneously worked a full time job, which I used to help me fund my business.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my social media audience by consistently being present and keeping my brand before the people. I learned early on that posting everyday is important, as well as engaging with followers. If you are just starting to build social media presence POST POST POST. Be sure that you have clear pictures or videos of what you’re selling and be creative when it comes to content, find out what’s trending in your industry, and lastly stay relevant.
