We were lucky to catch up with Jairo Urcuyo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jairo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Our mission is to affect esports in a postive way. Throughout the esports and video game industry there is this narrative that playing video games is bad, lazy, and it does not help you in other careers. When its the complete opposite. We not only house some of the best talent in the world in esports, but also help educate what esports means.
By making sure that people get paid on time, having a positive work environment, teach them the careers of the future, help creators and influencers have the tools needed to make this a livable career. We try to do it all. We started Las Vegas Inferno for the city!
Las Vegas Inferno is the official esports team of Las Vegas, recognized as a premier competitive gaming and entertainment brand. We compete on a global stage for millions in prize pools while seamlessly integrating into industries we are passionate about, including lifestyle, live events, music, culture, sports, and film.
Our brand is a fusion of these passions, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for our community. Beyond competition, we are committed to making a difference through charitable initiatives, having raised over $27,000 for various causes.
At Las Vegas Inferno, we strive to be industry leaders, pushing the boundaries of esports and setting new standards for excellence.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My journey into esports began with a deep passion for gaming and competition from an early age. Growing up, I was captivated by the depth and fast paced nature of video games, which naturally led me to explore the competitive side of the industry. As esports evolved into a global phenomenon, I saw an opportunity not just to play but to build something greater, a community-driven brand that could make an impact. My vision led to the founding of Las Vegas Inferno, where I combined my love for gaming, entertainment, and business to create a powerhouse organization. Through my leadership, I have helped grow Vegas Inferno into a leading esports brand, engaging fans, hosting events, and fostering the next generation of competitive gamers.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I started working for some local businesses in Las Vegas, while working I was creating and developing Las Vegas Inferno. Right before the pandamic the job that I was working for was not having the best of luck, they closed down and I was forced to go all in into Las Vegas Inferno. Starting during the covid pandamic really helped us as most people were home at the time and looking for entertainment. From there we started housing teams in different gaming titles and getting our name into the industry. We then focused on Influencers and bringing in a family type of environment into the brand. Fastfoward to us ringing the siren for the Vegas Golden Knights Playoffs to creating content at UFCX, to working with athletes like Drew Brews, Rhamondre Stevenson, and more

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We built the audience starting on Twitter now X, but having all our friends and family follow the account. We started hosting giveaways with our partners, having pictures with athletes and celebrities, creating content about our life and that just started snow balling.
My advice to anyone starting to build their social medias, record everything you do. Take pictures with anyone you think that can help put you and your brand out there. Take advantages of the opportunities that get presented to you.
