We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tiarah Linnear. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tiarah below.
Tiarah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I definitely would have started my business sooner. I began researching the coffee industry long before I officially committed in 2024. At the time, I was working in an orthopedic clinic, but I knew I wanted more. I was raised to believe that success meant going to school, getting a stable job, and working my way up. But deep down, I always felt undervalued. I wanted to create something of my own—something that would represent my people, honor my family, and build generational wealth.
Looking back, I sometimes wish I had taken the leap earlier, but I also know that God’s timing is perfect. He moves us when we’re ready, not just when we think we are. Every morning and every night, I pray for His will to be done over my life, and because of that, I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Tiarah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Tiarah Linnear, a 26-year-old entrepreneur born and raised in Dallas, Texas. My roots run deep—my dad’s side of the family is from Louisiana, and my mom’s side is from a small town in Texas. That rich blend of Southern culture influences everything I do, including my brand. Linneaux Coffee is a reflection of that heritage, with the name itself being derived from my last name, Linnear, but with a Creole twist. My love for coffee and coffee shop culture is what led me into this industry. In college, I would spend hours in local coffee shops studying, completing assignments, and soaking in the atmosphere. Even now, I make it a point to visit a coffee shop every Sunday after church to read, plan my week, and decompress. In fact, as I write this, I’m sitting in a coffee shop!
Starting my business has been a faith-driven journey—one that has stretched me, tested me, and ultimately confirmed that I am on the right path and in alignment with my purpose. Linneaux Coffee is my way of bringing people together over a great cup of coffee while also providing a premium, intentional experience.
We specialize in offering high-quality, carefully curated coffee blends sourced from some of the best coffee-growing regions in the world. What sets Linneaux Coffee apart is our focus on the artistry behind coffee—showcasing how beans from different regions offer unique flavor profiles and how making coffee at home can be an enjoyable, cost-effective experience. With the rising cost of everyday expenses and the dominance of major coffee chains, I wanted to provide an alternative—a brand that values quality, culture, and community.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the integrity behind my business. My coffee beans are sourced from another Black-owned business, and that partnership means everything to me. Building Linneaux Coffee isn’t just about selling coffee—it’s about creating opportunities, uplifting my community, and ensuring that wealth circulates within our culture.
At the core of Linneaux Coffee is a commitment to excellence, authenticity, and faith. I want every customer to feel the heart behind my brand, knowing that when they support Linneaux, they’re supporting something bigger—a movement, a legacy, and a brand built with purpose.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I love this question! One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that working in the corporate world for someone else was my only path to success. Growing up, I was always taught that the key to a stable, successful life was to go to school, get a degree, and secure a job with benefits. Entrepreneurship was never presented to me as an option—I didn’t have any entrepreneurs in my family, and no one ever told me that building my own business was even possible.
For a long time, I followed the path I was taught, believing it was the only way. I worked in an orthopedic clinic, and while I was grateful for the opportunity, I constantly felt unfulfilled. I knew I wanted more—I wanted ownership, freedom, and the ability to create something meaningful that would last beyond me. That’s when I started diving into entrepreneurship, researching, learning, and stepping out on faith to build Linneaux Coffee.
Entrepreneurship is so much more than just running a business—it’s about breaking generational cycles, creating opportunities, and building something that can provide for generations to come. It’s about stepping outside of the system we’ve been conditioned to rely on and realizing that we have the power to create wealth, impact, and change.
Unlearning the corporate-only mindset has been freeing. It’s shown me that success isn’t one-size-fits-all and that true fulfillment comes from walking in my purpose. Now, I want to inspire others—especially those who, like me, never saw entrepreneurship as an option—to dream bigger and realize that they, too, can build something of their own.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Two of the first books that had a major impact on my entrepreneurial journey were Two Weeks Notice by Amy Porterfield and The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Two Weeks Notice gave me the confidence and strategy to transition from employee to entrepreneur, while The Purpose Driven Life helped me stay grounded in faith and reminded me that my business is bigger than just making money—it’s about fulfilling my God-given purpose.
I also listen to podcasts daily to stay motivated and continuously learn. Some of my favorites are The Called by Touré Roberts, which speaks on purpose and faith-driven success, The Mel Robbins Podcast, which offers practical advice on mindset and personal growth, and Financial Feminist, which has helped me develop a stronger understanding of financial independence and wealth-building.
These resources have shaped the way I think about business, leadership, and purpose. They’ve reinforced the importance of taking risks, trusting God’s timing, and building something meaningful that will last for generations.
