“My name is Mohammed Rahman, and I’m an engineer by training but an entrepreneur at heart. From a young age, I’ve always had a strong drive to work for myself, inspired by the example set by my parents, who own gas stations and convenience stores. While my engineering background provided stability, I realized it wasn’t my true passion. Instead, I found myself drawn to the challenges and rewards of building and growing businesses.

I started my first business when I was young, and it flourished, igniting a lifelong passion for entrepreneurship. Today, I am proud to own and operate several successful ventures, including Aviles Hair Studio and Shampoo the Salon, where we provide top-tier hair and beauty services. I also manage commercial properties and rental properties, creating value and opportunities for tenants and the communities we serve.

We also own a medical spa, further diversifying our portfolio and expanding into the health and wellness sector. What sets me apart is the combination of my engineering mindset and my business acumen. My technical background gives me strong problem-solving abilities and helps me fill gaps in businesses by integrating modern solutions with old-school foundations. My entrepreneurial experience has taught me the importance of creativity, resilience, and connecting with people. These skills have allowed me to achieve millions of dollars in sales and build a portfolio of thriving businesses.

I’m most proud of the journey that brought me here—the lessons learned, the risks taken, and the successes earned through hard work and dedication. How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What helped me build my reputation in the market is my unwavering commitment to honesty, putting others first, and creating an environment where both my team and clients can thrive. Our hair salons are a prime example of this—offering a high-end, luxury experience where the customer always comes first.

We also excel in digital marketing and personalization, which enables us to connect with our clients on a deeper level and deliver tailored solutions that truly resonate. Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

Funding my business was a result of discipline, strategic planning, and a commitment to my long-term vision. While working in corporate roles, including as a product manager for major companies like Disney, I made it a priority to save rather than splurge. While others my age were spending on luxury items like fancy cars or designer bags, I chose to invest that money into building something meaningful for my future.

That discipline paid off. By saving and being intentional about my finances early on, I created a strong financial foundation. Now, I’m in a position where I can afford those luxuries if I choose to, but more importantly, I’ve built businesses that provide financial freedom and stability. It’s proof that patience and smart planning can turn dreams into unlimited possibilities.
