We were lucky to catch up with Greg Hendry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Greg, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
William & Fields Media started as nothing more than an idea—and a drone. I’ve always enjoyed flying drones, and I knew I wanted to find an industry where I could put that passion to work. At first, I focused solely on offering drone services, but I quickly realized that in order to make this a sustainable business, I needed to expand my offerings.
That’s when I turned to real estate photography. I started thinking about everything a real estate agent would need to effectively market a listing—not just drone footage, but high-quality photos, walkthrough videos, 3D tours, and floor plans. Instead of offering just one piece of the puzzle, I wanted to be a one-stop shop for real estate media. I trained myself on how to provide all of these services at a professional level, allowing me to offer a complete solution for agents.
What excited me most about this idea was the potential to truly help agents stand out in a competitive market. I wasn’t just solving one small problem—I was making it easier and more efficient for agents to get all the media they needed from a single provider. I knew this approach would work because I was filling a gap. Many photographers specialized in one or two services, but few offered everything in one package. By streamlining the process, I made it easier for agents to get professional, high-quality content without the hassle of coordinating multiple vendors.
Looking back, what started as a simple love for flying drones turned into something much bigger—a business that helps real estate professionals showcase their listings in the best possible light. And that’s what keeps me motivated every day.

My name is Greg Hendry, and I’m the founder of William & Fields Media. At William & Fields Media, I provide real estate agents with everything they need to showcase their listings and attract buyers. My services include high-quality photography, cinematic walkthrough videos, drone imagery, floor plans, and 3D virtual tours. What sets me apart is that I don’t just take photos—I help agents market their properties. Every listing I shoot comes with free marketing materials like flyers, postcards, and social media posts, as well as a dedicated property website. I make the process seamless, ensuring that agents get everything they need in one place without the hassle of coordinating multiple vendors.
One of the biggest problems I solve for my clients is time. Real estate agents are busy, and marketing a listing can be overwhelming. My goal is to take that burden off their shoulders by delivering high-quality media quickly, making it easier for them to attract buyers and sell homes faster.
I’m most proud of the fact that I built this business from the ground up. With a background in sales, I took a leap of faith, invested my savings, and gave myself a year to build something I was truly passionate about. Today, William & Fields Media is helping agents across the region elevate their listings and stand out in a competitive market.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
Funding my business was a true leap of faith. Before starting William & Fields Media, I had built a career in corporate sales, where I was able to save money over the years. When I was laid off, I had a choice to make—go back to another corporate job or take a chance on something I was truly passionate about. Instead of playing it safe, I decided to bet on myself.
I used my severance package and a portion of my personal savings to launch the business. No loans, no outside financing—just me taking on 100% of the risk. It was both exciting and terrifying, but I knew that if I was going to make this work, I had to fully commit. That decision pushed me to work even harder, knowing that my success depended entirely on my own effort and dedication.
Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It wasn’t easy, but building something from the ground up with my own resources made every milestone even more rewarding. Taking that risk gave me the freedom to shape my business the way I envisioned, and today, I’m proud to have created a company that provides real value to my clients.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building my reputation in the real estate media industry has come down to one core principle—being reliable and easy to work with. In this business, timing is everything, and I’ve built trust with my clients by always being available when they need me. I answer my phone, respond to texts immediately, and don’t limit my availability to traditional business hours. Real estate doesn’t stop at 5 p.m., and neither do I.
There have been plenty of times when an agent has texted me at 10 p.m. with an urgent request for the next day due to unforeseen issues. Instead of saying, “Sorry, I’m booked,” I find a way to make it work. That kind of responsiveness and flexibility is something my clients appreciate, and it’s helped me build strong relationships in the industry.
Beyond that, I know that reputation is everything, so I make sure my clients have a great experience from start to finish. Google reviews have been a huge part of growing my credibility, and I always make it a point to ask for them. When agents share their positive experiences, it not only helps my business grow but also reassures new clients that they’re in good hands.
At the end of the day, my goal is to make my clients’ lives easier. I don’t just deliver photos and videos—I provide a seamless experience that helps agents market their listings without added stress. That level of dedication is what has helped me stand out and build a strong reputation in my market.
