We recently connected with Katie Miner and have shared our conversation below.
Katie, appreciate you joining us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
I got my business up and running in my late 30s — so had a ton of job experience before starting up. A part of me wishes I opened up sooner, but I’m grateful I didn’t because I picked up so many invaluable skills along the way…
In my early 20s I gained an important set of skills working as a server at an Italian restaurant. Experience in the service industry is invaluable because it’s all about customer service! What an awesome way to learn how to pivot and adapt to situations as they arise, interface with all types of personalities, and play different roles to suit different needs.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always been drawn to creativity, self-expression, and performance, but it wasn’t until middle school that I started using personal style to explore who I was and where I fit in. Like many teenagers, I went through countless style phases — goth, surfer girl and everything in between — and as a result gained a deep love for clothing, putting together outfits, and using style as a form of self-expression.
That passion led me to fashion school with the dream of becoming a stylist. While I’ve always loved fashion, I was never really interested in design itself. What excited me was the art of styling—taking pieces from different designers and combining them in a way that felt fresh, unique, and entirely my own.
After school, I gained experience working at Anthropologie (at its peak!), a fashion manufacturer in San Francisco, and later took time off to be a stay-at-home mom—an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything.
But motherhood also opened my eyes to something I hadn’t fully realized before: so many women, especially moms, experience a deep loss of identity. Their style no longer reflects who they are, shopping feels overwhelming, and getting dressed becomes another stressful task instead of something joyful. That realization led me to personal styling.
What I Do
I work with women who want to feel polished, confident, and effortlessly stylish but don’t have the time or energy to figure it all out on their own. My services include:
✨ Personalized Wardrobe Curation – Helping clients define their authentic style and build a wardrobe that truly works for their lifestyle.
✨ Closet Edits & Transformations – Clearing out what no longer serves them and identifying key pieces to complete their wardrobe.
✨ Shopping & Styling – Streamlining the process with curated selections tailored to their needs, so they can invest in pieces they’ll love and wear.
✨ Lookbooks for Effortless Dressing – Creating outfit formulas that make getting dressed stress-free and enjoyable every single day.
The Problems I Solve
So many women juggle a million responsibilities—career, family, life—and their personal style gets pushed to the back burner. They’re overwhelmed by shopping, unsure of what their style even is anymore, and caught in the endless cycle of trends that don’t actually fit their lives. I help them cut through the noise, get clear on what works for them, and build a wardrobe that feels effortless and empowering.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m not about chasing trends or telling clients to buy more just for the sake of it. My approach is about intentional, high-touch, and deeply personalized styling that helps women feel like the best version of themselves—without the stress, decision fatigue, or wasted purchases. I believe style is not just about looking good; it’s about feeling confident, empowered, and in control of how you show up in the world.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the transformations I’ve helped my clients achieve—not just in their wardrobes, but in how they see themselves. I love hearing from women who finally feel like they own their style again, who wake up excited to get dressed, and who feel confident walking into a room knowing they look and feel their best.
What I Want People to Know
If you’ve ever felt lost in your style, overwhelmed by your wardrobe, or unsure how to put together outfits that reflect you, you’re not alone. I’m here to make the process easy, stress-free, and even fun. Because getting dressed should feel empowering—not like another chore on your to-do list.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Being an entrepreneur is all about resilience, betting on yourself and not giving up. I’ll be honest it took me a long time to give the whole entrepreneur thing a go, I was so scared of failure, being seen, being judged, being found lacking. It really takes getting to the point of not giving a F and doing it anyways because the alternative (not trying) is more painful.
I had a lot of misconceptions and thought my growth would be faster than it has been, but staying the course and not giving up has been so worth it. I have grown so much on a personal level and learned so much through entrepreneurship that I would never have experienced working for someone else.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
For me asking for help and collaborating with other creatives has been instrumental in my journey. From masterminds, to mentors and creative meet-ups, just having other people to bounce ideas off and point out my blind spots has been invaluable. It really gets my creative juices flowing and helps me articulate what I’m trying to express, while also keeping me on track and moving forward with my goals.
