Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Randall Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Randall, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
I’ve always had an angel following me from the beginning, from a small country town playing and hunting in the middle of corn fields., to the strange collage life at Western Illinois University. Days were spent finding my way through the new surroundings always relying on Art to open the way. Drawing, painting, impressed people I realized this at an early age, so all my thoughts were focused on increasing these abilities along with exploring the new collage culture. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art, with a Minor in Sculpture in 1979 and was led to LA. by one of my Angels. Upon arrival in LA again an Angel led me to my first job LACMA, unbelievable to see everything on the wall I had studied in Collage wow. I worked at LACMA for two and a halve years Experiencing Unbelievable things like helping unpack the Terracotta Worriers from the Chines Bronz Exhibition, meeting Ansil Adams without knowing who he was and being taught the Zone System of Photography that day without knowing it, which led me to becoming the Art Director of Elson Alexandre for 15 years, later in my journey. The job I was fascinated in next was working as a Gypsy in the Stained-Glass Art world for two years, there I traveled LA. selling One of Kind-stained glass boxes which I still sell today, the production of theses boxes designed by boss who was a retired rocket scientist. The next phase was opening Randalls Art Burbank, Italian Street Painter, Murals all over Burbank and LA. Sale Randalls Art. I also have developed art programs for senior living corporations which I attended daily

Randall, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I became an Artist after realizing that others loved to watch and receive art, using the skills received from my Collage Degree
I always looked for creative jobs that wouldn’t take me away from my art focus. In the early days I did Airbrush Photographic Retouching, oil painting on photos, photo restoration, after diving into Italian Street Painting in front of the Mission in Santa Barbara I became a Muralist covering all of Burbank and surrounding schools with imagery. Because of my extensive photographic background, I have no problem painting anything I see. Once you can produce ART the people around you become your Banks if you need to make a withdraw just produce something they will buy from you. The things I am most proud of are my Art Installations, these are eating areas at schools Jhon Miur, (Ansel Adams) Toll Middle school, (Tollywood) Luther Burbank (Dr Burbank). Art installations allow you to teach or set the mood for kids while their leaning. My best-selling things are prints of my original work Vargas style Women and my Kobi Basketball paintings. I have Murals of Wild Horses running in Northridge, A pod of dolphins in Dana Point, five buildings in Burbank Heal the Planet .com, Kobi Murals Fantastic Burgers,
Teaching is good but only teach what you sell. Randall Williams Teacher Burbank Adult School 15 years Drawing, Painting.
Best question best answer, How much do you charge? What’s your Buget?

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being an artist means you are always so super aware, and because of the visual aspect of Art you are able to enjoy the worlds
surroundings extensively. The ability to get revenue from you creation on my different levels allows you to be mobile no matter the playing field.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most important aspects of Art which I think, is key is learning more than one system more than one style more than one technique so if one area dries up you expose yourself to another
