We were lucky to catch up with Carolyn Hardy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Carolyn , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Friends and family can help support us by telling people about us, sharing videos we put on social media hand if they have a dog bring it in to come and play.
Carolyn , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My husband Ray and and I have always had dogs. After getting a Malinois, a working dog, and living in the desert, I knew we needed to do something where dogs could go to get out energy but not be in the heat. Or even in the cold during the winter. So I had the idea of an indoor dog park. Think dog park but indoors. It’s temperature controlled, clean and we require the dogs to be vaccinated. We use pet safe cleaners. We have a “potty” place (but if a dog doesn’t go potty in the designated area we are prepared to clean it up) and we have a hydration station. We also have agility equipment they can play on and we also have toys which are cleaned after a dog has played with them.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of mouth, website and social media.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We send out a monthly newsletter and also keep them updated on social media.
