We were lucky to catch up with Marquita Broussard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Marquita , thanks for joining us today. Let’s go back in time a bit – can you share a story of a time when you learned an important lesson during your education?
I had the opportunity to learn many important lessons from elementary, high school, college and my recent entrepreneurship course that has been a part of the journey to my roadmap for success.
Elementary school pillars were based on being the best we could be and treating individuals with kindness and respect.
My high school teacher challenged me for the better to be a leader and don’t be shy of the light you have to shine.
Our college motto- “I’ll Find A Way or Make One” that can apply to any sector of your live from business to personal. That you don’t make excuses but figure out ways to be a problem solver and pivot when necessary.
My Entrepreneurship Instructor encouraged us to celebrate three wins a month for your business big or small whether it’s having a potential client meeting, getting paid for a current campaign, or having an active business.
These words of encouragement have been the backbone to my success to stay positive in the good and bad times.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
First, I want to thank your readers for taking the time to read my feature!
My slogan I created for myself in this industry is “The Marketing Maverick”, meaning that I may have an unorthodox approach when it comes to not executing a campaign in the same “cookie cutter” way, but I stand behind my results that contributes to client’s bottom line and KPI.
Once I have good understanding of the client’s needs, research the current climate for their industry, and blend with a trendy creative content is some of the pieces that are key for a successful project.
Also, if any of your readers have a product or service, they are hesitant to spend marketing dollars, I would encourage them to consider adding a budget that is comfortable for you to increase visibility.
My recent festival client was hesitant to bring our company on board, but we showed our ability to secure sponsorship dollars through our corporate relationships and bring creative concepts to life for their attendees.
As a business owner there is some much you have to worry about, MARBRO MARKETING are the professionals to take the creative work off your plate.!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Relationships are key to growing my clientele- either through networking events, alumni connections, or identifying clients that need my services.
There’s an old saying that “people buy from who they like” and my team and I do our best to remain professional, have effective communication, and keep the client’s needs on the forefront.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn was that you can plan as much as possible, but there still may be bumps in the road.
Many times, in my corporate or business career things have come up with restructuring or a change in the job course that I keep a plan b as well.
