We were lucky to catch up with Jonathan Cheever recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jonathan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Move fast, take risks, work a lot. That is really all one needs to be a successful entrepreneur.
My journey as an Olympic athlete underscores this. After joining the U.S. Snowboard Team in 2005, I spent 13 years training, overcoming challenges, and refining my craft. That dedication culminated in competing at the 2018 Winter Olympics. It was a reminder that success isn’t instant—it’s earned through relentless effort.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Gosh, I’ve answered this question so many times throughout my career as both an athlete, a plumber, and a business owner.
I’m a second generation master plumber and business owner. So that was a natural path. As far as being an Olympic snowboarder – I pursued a passion as hard as I could for as long as I could and became a master. This can happen in any discipline.
I tend to live in the present, while looking ahead. I am most proud of the company I run and being a dad – doing both with my better half Madeleine. We are able to provide 5 star service to our clients and take care of our employees with better pay and culture than anywhere else in the state. Not to mention our 9 year old monster sees what hard work and being rad is about.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
No and I think most people should have laser focus on one target. Niche hopping happens when things get tough. Figuring problems out and embracing the suck is what makes people rich.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my fiancé, Madeleine, on tinder and things clicked rather quickly. Alex Hormozi and his wife Leila crush it. I don’t necessarily think most business owners or at least small business owners should have partnerships outside of their home. I do know that when one’s homelife is dialed, then everything else can thrive. Madeleine, is a key part of our business and without her, we would be dropping balls all of the time.
